The N64 library in the Expansion Pack has offered a very PlayStation-oriented update tonight.

Ridge Racer 64 is now available in the N64 library. Originally released in 2000 and never released in Japan, the arcade racer was actually a Nintendo-internal product developed under license from Namco, with the development led by Nintendo Software Technologies.

And it is free!

The Video Game History Foundation has today officially launched their digital library of research materials in early access. At launch the library already consists more than 1,500 text searchable out-of-print video game magazines including those rarely available to the public, previously unseen game developement materials, artwork, press kits, promotional materials, and more.

In what should be a week for mid-major RPGs it's an indie sequel stealing the show.

We also got a surprise release of roguelike dungeon crawler Overdungeon. Which is by Pocketpair. Yes, THAT Pocketpair, since to borrow a quote from the Discord, it's the only Pocketpair game that isn't in some form of Early Access.

What will likely be the last Tetris 99 Maximus Cup of 2024 will run this weekend, with the 44th cup offering a Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom theme. The competition will begin at 2 a.m. ET on Friday and run through 1:59 a.m. on December 24.

Of course, this light of a week just means hell to pay down the road. Possibly as soon as Saturday.

This week's Nintendo Switch Online update didn't just include classic console Tetris as expected.
