And then, there was one... for now.
Kirby is about to say "hiiiii~" to the N64 library for the Switch Online Expansion Pack.
The 2000 platformer will be added to the library on May 20. The last game in the "Dark Matter" trilogy of Kirby games (with Dream Land 2 on the Game Boy and 3 on the Super Nintendo), it offered a psuedo-3D perspective years before Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

The story of Alan Wake is coming to the Switch - officially.
In a 12th anniversary video (embedded below), the first minute shows off-screen footage of the remaster running on a Switch Lite. Remedy later confirmed that the title would launch this fall, natively (not a cloud title) but digital only.

This year's FIFA games will be the last to bear the organization's name - at least from Electronic Arts.

Nintendo's first declaration of independents for this year is due tomorrow.
An Indie World presentation has been announced to air tomorrow (May 11) at 7 a.m. PT, 10 a.m. ET, and 1400 UTC. It will run for 20 minutes.
The last Indie World aired in December, featuring the shadowdrop of Chicory: A Colorful Tale among others.

Originally called Eversleep, the newly re-titled Lunistice will be coming to Nintendo Switch, in addition to PC, on September 2, 2022. Lunistice is a 3D platformer heavily inspired by PS1/Sega Saturn era graphics. It began life as a "30 day challenge" while the developer took a break from their other title (A rail shooter also previously referred to as Lunistice) before this new game took center stage.

Serendipity is when a RiffTrax game comes out on the week of Star Wars Day (May 6).
Things we missed last week: Archives release is Namco's JP/Asia only release Youkai Douchuki. Also, if someone reading this can read Japanese and has an interest in strategy RPGs, LilyDeux Black Lily Warning dropped last week and claims to be a SRPG that does not use random number generations (accuracy, critical hits) but is also Japanese-language only despite a worldwide release.

After nearly a decade and a half, Square Enix is selling their largest Western subsidiary.
The Embracer Group (parent company of THQ Nordic, Saber Interactive, Gearbox, and Aspyr Multimedia) have entered into an agreement to purchase the previous assets of Eidos - including the development studio Crystal Dynamics - for US$300m. In the deal, Embracer will become the owners of properties such as Tomb Raider, Thief, and Deus Ex.

Apparently Chris Pratt really IS getting booked for everything.
Mario Time will now start in theaters next year.
A tweet from the Nintendo regional accounts (signed by Shigeru Miyamoto) announced that the Illumination Pictures-helmed Mario animated movie would now debut in 2023. The North American release is slated for April 7, 2023 with a Japanese release following on the 28th.
