The second Splatfest encore will be a battle of the spooky.

Halloween weekend (October 30 - November 1) will see the return of the Tricks v Treats Splatfest in Splatoon 2. It will run beginning at 6 p.m. ET on the Friday and go until 5 p.m. on Sunday, covering all of Halloween. The event first ran October 19-21, 2018.

As announced in today's Treehouse Live presentation, a demo for the complete Switch release of the 2013 Wii U title is now available in the eShop. The demo will feature the ability to carry over the save date to the launching game.

Marketing for the augmented reality kart racer has focused almost exclusively on a handheld experience. However a brief glimpse in a recent trailer lead us to question Nintendo directly, who confirmed for us that it can be played on a television as well.

After the strategy of Disgaea 5, the next free trial for Switch Online members will be a faster paced shooter.

Overwatch will be free online for Switch Online members beginning on October 13, with the trial running until October 21 at 2:59 a.m. ET (11:59pm on the 20th Pacific time).

The free trial comes at the one year anniversary of the game's Switch launch (October 15, 2019).

At least for now it won't contain any Bakugan, but you never know...

Treehouse Live will return tomorrow with Pikmin and Hyrule.

At 1 p.m. ET, Treehouse will be showing off gameplay for two of Nintendo's fall releases in Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is slated to be a "deep dive", while Age of Calamity will show off a new stage and gameplay details.

Although not shown in combat, a new trailer for the November 20 release shows off three characters who will be included in the story. The King of Hyrule is joined by the twin Sheikah researchers Robbie and Purah.

EA's next game for Switch will be one of their most beloved racing games.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered was revealed today for a November 13 launch on Switch. The remastered version of the 2010 simulation racer that appeared in a modified form on the Wii was developed by the original development studio, Criterion Games.

The sports game features a worldwide mafia, while the visual novel sticks to Italy.

Minecon has featured a window for a long-awaited addition to one of the year's big releases.

Minecraft Dungeons will add cross-play in a patch in November. The patch will open the multiplayer pool for the May 26 release to include players on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft's xCloud streaming platform in addition to the Switch pool.

Some of it coming quickly, others not so much.

Steve will be rocking the Smash block in about a week and a half.

The eighth DLC fighter (7th from a Fighter's Pass) will drop on October 13, as revealed in today's Smash presentation hosted by Masahiro Sakurai. The stage and music were also revealed, with the music focused on songs from the Minecraft Dungeons and Earth spinoffs.

This will build some new bridges, houses, and endless spawn structures.

Smash DLC #8 is from one of the most successful games of all time.

Steve, the player character from Minecraft, has been revealed as the next Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter. The brief video showed the basics of his moveset, as well as costumes for Alex, a Zombie, and the Enderman.

Nintendo have announced the reveal of the next Smash DLC will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET, 7 a.m. PT, and 1600 UTC. Unlike prior character reveals, the video will only be a few minutes long and will be followed by a "brief" message from Smash director Masahiro Sakurai.
