Golden Axe and Ecco the Dolphin are now available!

Though they all didn't come out on a Monday as we expected, the Virtual Console was updated today with two new games from Sega.

The classic Genesis adventure title (originally released on 7/29/1993) is now available for 800 Wii points. It's a single player game that is compatible with the Wii Remote, Classic controller, and GameCube controller.

First pictures of the Australian retail Wii reveal an actual case for Wii Sports.

IGN Australia recently got their hands on a retail version of Wii. They took many pictures that reveal quite a bit. For the most part, the package is exactly the same as the North American retail box. A remote, nunchuck, and Wii Sports are all included. The only noticeably different part is that, much to the delight of collectors, Wii Sports comes in a plastic DVD sized case like all of the other Wii games.

There will be no sidescrolling shooting action for European Wii owners this year.

Nintendo of America has posted first quarter release dates for next year, and they include a few big-name surprises.

Two Wii games, WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Wii Play will come first on January 15th. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for Nintendo DS will arrive one week later on January 22nd.

February will include two highly anticipated ports, Diddy Kong Racing DS and Final Fantasy VI Advance for GBA, both releasing on February 5th.

Europe will be getting the Nintendo MP3 Player on December 8, 2006.

Splinter Cell, Open Season, and Far Cry miss North American launch day, aim for launch window.

In a notice sent to press today Ubisoft clarified that four of their upcoming Wii games will release on November 19th, while the remaining three will release in the coming weeks.
