An old friend makes the comeback of the century to return to the top 10 in software.
June game sales in the United States saw some big restocks resulting in epic comebacks to the sales chart.
All data based on dollar sales from May 31 - July 4 (five weeks) unless otherwise indicated.
The Switch was the top-selling hardware platform again in June, for both unit and dollar sales. Hardware sales were down 17% compared to May, despite the extra week of tracking, but no numbers were given to determine June Switch sales.

We hate to be the crystal bearers of bad news here.
A new trailer for the upcoming remaster of one of the most infamous offline-only games has confirmed there will be no offline multiplayer this time.
The Japanese-language trailer for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered was posted on the game's Japanese language Twitter account, along with an announcement that due to "development reasons" the production prioritized online play over offline play in an attempt to get more players.

We'll see Hero's true form... and it looks a lot like Soren.
The next two Smash DLC Amiibo have a release date.
The figures for Joker and Hero, shown off in the June 22 Smash Bros presentation where MinMin debuted, will be available in North America on October 2. They will launch a week earlier (September 25) in Japan.

Imagine a version with Kirby's Adventure.
The Nintendo and LEGO partnership is getting even bigger.
A LEGO set featuring a replica NES and a small CRT TV will be available on August 1 for US$229.99. The set will create a brick version of a level of the original Super Mario Bros., with a crank included on the TV to advance the scene.

If you're playing the Toad drinking game, you should get a few hours into The Origami King before the liver taps out.
The last announced, dated, Nintendo published game that we know of right now drops on Friday: Paper Mario: The Origami King unfolds adventure, combat, and enough Toads to choke the Derby field. Games riding in the wake of a major Nintendo release include the farming remake Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, creepy action game Void Terrarium, and metallic strategy game Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus (delayed from its initial May launch).

You never saw it coming....
Nintendo's reveal of a WayForward game today turned out to be more anime.
Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia is a new action title based on the Bakugan TCG and animated series. It will be published by WB Games on November 3, exclusively for the Switch.
Players will tour the world and build their team of monsters, and will be able to take their teams online.

If you like exploring, it may be worth avoiding the 1.1.2 update.
A patch to Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was released last night, bringing the game to version 1.1.2. Alongside various changes such as fixing some subtitles in the Future Connected campaign and removing an exploit to skip one of the game's areas, one change has left players confused and frustrated.

Treehouse Live will be returning tomorrow with another announcement from WayForward among the highlights.
Nintendo will be airing Treehouse Live - July 2020 tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. Pacific) on their YouTube and Twitch channels. Although designed to show off gameplay of Paper Mario: The Origami King, there will also be a "first reveal and gameplay for a title in a franchise new to developer WayForward!"

Superhot Team announced their next title, SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE today, and anyone who purchases the original before it releases will be receiving the sequel for free. No Switch version of MIND CONTROL DELETE was announced, but fans who bought the game on Nintendo Switch still have a chance to receive the game for free.

Other things announced outside of Way Forward.
The delayed Limited Run Games E3 show dropped a bunch of new physical copies of previously eShop-only titles.
Among the prominent titles receiving cartridge form are the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and the Grandia HD Collection, bringing Konami and GungHo Entertainment into the fold. The retailer will open preorders for the Grandia collection on August 7, while the Castlevania Collection will launch sometime in Q3.

Sadly, this doesn't involve making Gretzky bleed, but the chances are no longer 0.
Nintendo's latest update to the Switch Online subscriptions includes a classic platformer and a new publisher getting on board.
An update on July 15 will include 1994's Donkey Kong Country and Virtual Console regular Natsume Championship Wrestling coming to the Super Nintendo library. The NES library will only add a single game, but it will be the 1991 Electronic Arts-published The Immortal.
