Mario's arcade racing debut gets pushed back from the fall to December in Japan.
Mario Kart Arcade GP was first shown at the Japanese Arcade Operators Union show in February. The game, developed by Namco on the Triforce arcade hardware, promised to bring the Mario Kart action we all love to the arcades, and it looked like it would do the job. Reports from the AOU show floor indicated that the game would be released to Japanese arcades in the fall of this year.

When the Japanese get their paws on the game, they can purchase a cute little Nintendog plush or DS bag to go with it.
Nintendogs is due out in Japan on April 21. Along with the three versions of the game, Nintendo will also have some cute Nintendogs DS accessories available to purchase on the same day.

New spot airing in Japan.
Nintendo recently posted the latest commercial for their newest Fire Emblem title on GameCube. The thirty-second spot focuses on dramatic cinema scenes and battle animations direct from the game. Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki releases in Japan on April 20th.

Konami announces its acquisition of additional Hudson shares, making it Hudson's majority stockholder.
Konami revealed its new position as majority stockholder of Hudson Soft Co., Ltd. today on its Japanese website.
After dismal fiscal year for Hudson, the software company turned to its primary stockholder, Konami, to improve its fiscal situation. Hoping to "strengthen Hudson's net worth," Konami agreed to purchase 3 million new shares to raise its ownership of Hudson from forty-five percent to fifty-four percent.

Available in limited quantities only at Pokepark.
Nintendo has announced that a special edition Blue Pokepark DS will be on sale in limited quantities at Pokepark. Pokepark is a temporary amusement park, set up in Japan from March 18th through September 25th of this year. The system features a darker blue finish than the upcoming turquoise DS, as well as a Pokepark logo on the top of the system and a Pikachu silhouette near the top screen.

DS sales have now reached 500.000, with Super Mario 64 DS and WarioWare Touched being the most popular launch games.
According to NoE, DS sales have been outstanding in Europe since the launch. By Easter Saturday over 500.000 units had been sold, which amounts to 77% of the consoles that were shipped to retailers. Many stores report that they’re out of stock, but new deliveries are on the way.
