Seems that Nintendo is still iffy on releasing the game out here. As a result, the game is a no-show at E3.

When asked if Fire Emblem was still coming out in the US at the E3 Nintendo press conference, the statement given was that the game was still unconfirmed despite internet rumors that it would be coming out here.
This sort of unconfirmation spells doubt on a US release. If Nintendo doesn't announce the title soon, don't expect a 2002 release, if at all.

Animal Crossing is going to be improved with e-Card Reader capabilities, and NES games that you can unlock and download to the GBA.

The Mercury News, and IGN, has provided some new details regarding Animal Crossing for the GameCube.
Most importantly, the game will feature e-Card Reader capabilities that will allow the player to unlock a host of different objects and features.
One of those features? Classic NES games! They are temorarily saved into the GBA's memory where they can be played for the time the system is powered.
