PGC recently got a hold of a copy of the Japanese GC and GBA's summer catalog,

which is titled the Nintendo Book 2002 - Summer. The catalog also features a

special report on E3, which includes release dates and game descriptions. Most

According to a response on the IGN Boards (Insider membership required), Denis has mentioned that the 15 blocks of memory required to save in Eternal Darkness now gives you SIX save game slots, not four.

Faithful reader Kevlar281 alerted us to the Electronics Boutique website posting info on a new special edition of the upcoming Robotech for GameCube. The Collector's Edition is eighty bucks and includes several limited-edition items that hardcore Robotech fans will surely go nuts over.

Travellers Tales will develop a multiplatform console game based on the upcoming Pixar movie.

Pixar, creators of Toy Story and A Bug's Life, have a new movie coming in summer 2003. THQ and developer Travellers Tales (which also created games based on the previously released Pixar films) are working on a multiplatform next-gen console title to coincide with that release.

Yet another small developer is bought out, this time by Electronic Arts.

According to GameSpot, Electronic Arts is acquiring Black Box Games. Black Box is currently developing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 for EA, which is scheduled to hit GameCube as well as PS2 and Xbox. They also developed NHL Hitz 2002 for Midway and collaborated with Visual Concepts for Sega Soccer Slam.

I just got back from EB with my two WaveBirds. So does the WaveBird receiver get in the way of the drive door? The world wants to know....

The WaveBird receiver does NOT interfere with the Q's drive bay. If you have a Q, the WaveBirds fit just like they would with a regular GameCube, except the receiver juts out a little bit more due to the contoured design of the wireless receiver's backside.

The WaveBird works just fine with the Q. Thank you Nintendo!

The Game Boy Advance was first released in North America on June 11, 2001. Since then it has sold over 6 million units in that territory, which NOA notes is equal to the population of Washington state, where their headquarters are located. Neat.

To commemorate the GBA's first birthday, Nintendo is releasing a limited edition Platinum-colored version.

The green (and maybe gray?) monster is going multiplatform next summer.

Everyone knows that the long-awaited Eternal Darkness comes out June 24th in North America. Did you also know that day is the lunar eclipse? Of course, the "coincidence" was fully planned and besides being just generally cool and creepy, it may be a clue that eclipses factor into the game's story, which has been previously indicated by promo art.

Developed by From Software, Lost Kingdoms (or Rune as it's named in Japan) is a card-based RPG with heavy focus on combat. The game is being published by Activision in North America, and it should be on retail shelves this week. Here's the press release with more info:

Infogrames announced today the complete sell-out of their first shipment of Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku for Game Boy Advance. The 300,000 units sold make Legacy of Goku the most successful Infogrames product on a Nintendo platform ever, and the company has ordered 250,000 for its second shipment.
