Loot Crate Partnering with Nintendo for Amiibo Crates WiiU

Delivering Nintendo's adorable little figures right to your door.

Loot Crate is partnering with Nintendo to bring amiibo figurines to its popular mail-based subscription service.

"Loot Crate has teamed up with Nintendo to bring you an epic amiibo crate!" a post on the company's official site explains. There's no word on when amiibo figurines will be part of Loot Crate's offerings, but you can join the mailing list to stay updated on when it'll be made available to the public.

Nintendo Looking into Third-Party Support for Amiibo WiiU3DS

Nintendo is currently investigating the possibility of partnering with third-party studios to expand the amiibo platform to games beyond its first-party software lineup.

"We’re having those conversations and we’re still early on because amiibo isn’t even going to launch until later this month," Nintendo licensing manager Damon Baker explained.

Citizens of Earth Has Been Delayed Until the New Year WiiU3DS

Enjoy Eden's foray in the role-playing genre slightly later than expected.

Citizens of Earth will now be coming out on January 20, 2015, Atlus announced on Friday.

The RPG, which was originally scheduled to release this month, sees the Vice President of the world on a quest to save it. For this, he will ask help from various members of society. Together, they'll have to complete quests and uncover the strange occurences that have been happening all over.

Amiibo, Nintendo's upcoming NFC platform, will extend far beyond figures. According to Nintendo EAD General Manager Shigeru Miyamoto, support for cards and cheaper toys is in the works as well.

Xenoblade Chronicles X was further detailed during today's Nintendo Direct.

Using "New Los Angeles" as a home base, your character, an explorer, sets out on the strange planet to partake in missions. They include hunting various creatures and doing favors for other characters. The story is about a society of people who crash landed a huge spaceship onto the planet in the game.

Nintendo Showed off the first footage of Splatoon's single campaign mode during a trailer in Wednesday's direct.

In the Campaign mode, players will control a squid character in a 3D action platforming adventure which puts the protagonist squids up against their octopus nemeses.

Shigeru Miyamoto's three Pikmin shorts are now available on the Nintendo eShop on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

These shorts are being called Pikmin Short Movies 3D, on 3DS, and Pikmin Short Movies HD, on Wii U. The pack of three costs $4.99 on each platform. The short movies also include the original storyboards that Miyamoto created in Flipnote Studio.

Celebrate Duck Hunt's Smash Bros. appearance by playing the game that started it all.

The NES classic Duck Hunt is coming to Wii U Virtual Console according to today's Nintendo Direct.

Originally made 30 years ago in 1984, Duck Hunt is a light gun game where you shoot down ducks and clay discs. If you fail, a dog laughs at you. That dog along with a duck are playable in Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS.

Now you can buy digital games directly through your web browser.

3DS and Wii U owners can now buy digital games via the official site.

Using the website, you can start downloads without touching your system. The online version of the eShop can be viewed from both normal web browsers and via smartphones and other mobile devices.

Amiibo Support for Hyrule Warriors Explained WiiU

The figurine lineup expands as new Amiibo information surfaces.

Nintendo has provided an explanation detailing how Amiibo functionality works with The Legend of Zelda spin-off, Hyrule Warriors. Using the Link Amiibo in the game gives players the Spinner weapon first seen in Twilight Princess. Other figures will unlock a random material in Hyrule Warriors.

The Amiibo support will be added in an update later this month alongside the upcoming Twilight Princess DLC pack.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Plus Coming to 3DS in Japan with Amiibo Support 3DS

Get ready to soar through the skies in Nintendo themed planes.

A remade version of Ace Combat: Cross Rumble 3D, known in the West as Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS next year with Amiibo support on January 29. The new game, dubbed Ace Combat: Cross Rumble Plus, is essentially a remake of the Ace Combat title that was released in 2011, but this time, Nintendo themed fighter planes are now available to play in the game. There is currently no word on a Western release.

Those who purchase Ultimate NES Remix will be able to download a free Nintendo 3DS theme. The the 3DS theme will be based on the Famicom.

No word yet if the free Famicom theme will be available for purchase as a standalone item.
