Discount on NES titles if you own either NES Remix for the Wii U!

Europe will see four weeks of Virtual Console discounts on the Wii U, starting July 24th. The announcement was made via Twitter this past Saturday.

Mario Kart 8 and Tomodachi Life both ranked in the top 10 this month on the NPD charts.

Tomodachi Life ranked at number 9, while Mario Kart 8 ranked highest at number 2. Call of Duty: Ghosts, which came out for the Wii U last November, continues its success at at number 8.

The 2014 Elite Status gifts have been revealed on Club Nintendo. Instead of any physical rewards like previous years, choices consist of sixteen different free downloadable titles, with Gold members' options being limited to Virtual Console games.

There are more Pokémon up for grabs this August!

Pokémon trainers across Japan have the chance to grab two special Pokémon to enhance their experience in Pokémon X and Y this month.

As part of the annual Tanabata Festival, players who visit the Tohoku Pokémon Center have will the chance to grab their own Shiny Jirachi. It will be level 10 creature and will know the moves Wish, Swift, Healing Wish & Moonblast and hold a Star Piece to complete the package.

UK retailer GAME will be hosting a Charizard distribution event from July 11 to August 10.

Players can either obtain the fire-breathing Pokémon through a Nintendo Zone download in the store or through a serial code if requested. The Charizard obtained will come with Charizardite Y for players connecting with Pokémon X and Charizardite X for Pokémon Y players.

A new challenger for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS will be revealed on Monday, July 14, via a live stream on the games' official website.
