The green flag has dropped on the second Mario Kart 8 DLC pack.
An update to version 4.0 is available in all territories that is required to download the pack. The DLC includes three new racers (Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser), two new cups worth of tracks and other bonuses such as support for more Mii suits by Amiibo and new Miiverse stamps.

New console boxes, new firmware and new release dates in today’s Nintendo news.
A lot of news in the last few days is headlined by a new Wii U bundle.
Splatoon Wii U Bundles Announced
Nintendo has announced hardware bundles for both North America and Europe that will include Splatoon.
The NA bundle will be $299.99/$329.99 MSRP and will include a Deluxe Wii U, a download code for Splatoon and a preinstalled copy of NintendoLand. In the US, the bundle will be a Best Buy exclusive.

After the success of last year’s Mega May promotion on the 3DS, Capcom is bringing it back around with four GBA games up for the Wii U Virtual Console.
A poll is open at Capcom Unity to determine which of the following games will release on May 7:
Mega Man Battle Network 3 (Blue/White)
Mega Man Battle Network 4 (Red Sun/Blue Moon)
Mega Man and Bass
Mega Man Zero 2
The other three games will release each Thursday in May.

Sega is bringing a slew of Sega Genesis classics to the Nintendo 3DS later this Summer.
Sega will continue it’s line of 3D Classics this Summer with three Sega Genesis favorites, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage 2, and Gunstar Heroes.
In addition to stereoscopic graphics, Sega promises each of the games will include new modes and features. In the first wave of 3D Classics, new features included the ability to spin dash in the original Sonic the Hedgehog and a Super Dolphin Mode in Ecco the Dolphin.

There's a couple of giant games coming to the various eShops this week for North America. On the 3DS side, New 3DSXL owners will get the first New 3DS-only game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - and given the delay North Americans had to endure for Xenoblade on Wii, eight days seems almost instantaneous. Just have that extra-capacity memory card handy, because 3.7GB/28,000+ blocks won't fit on the default memory card.

To commemorate the launch of the new StreetPass games, Europe is having a giant StreetPass party.
From 16 April – 27 April, every Nintendo Zone in Europe will be scrambled to produce Miis from all over the world, and StreetPass communities in Europe will be holding special events to coincide with the launch of StreetPass Zombies, StreetPass Fishing and the VIP room.

Now you can get cheesed by the moving birds at LUDICROUS SPEED!
Code Name S.T.E.A.M has been updated to version 1.1 through a patch on the eShop, which includes the faster enemy turns promised in last week’s Nintendo Direct.
The patch, which weighs in at a svelte 27 blocks (432KB), adds a fast-forward button to the screen during enemy turns that will see the speed move at 2x on an original 3DS/XL/2DS, and 3x on the New 3DS.

Apparently looking to corner the market on monster collecting games that sell like chocolate-covered crack in Japan.
Nintendo is bringing Level 5's massively popular ghost-chasing series to North America, Europe and Australia as "Yo-Kai Watch".
Level 5 announced the deal at their annual Level-5 Vision conference in Japan, along with deals for Hasbro to handle distribution of the toys associated with the series. The toys will begin releasing in the fall, but there is no timeframe for a release of the games as of yet.
