The Wind Waker 2 Sails to E3 GC

At the GDC, Eiji Aonuma offered insights on recent developments in the Zelda series and teased the audience with a brief reference to the Wind Waker 2.

Wednesday afternoon at the Game Developer's Conference in San Jose, Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma delivered a lecture entitled "The Evolution of a Franchise: The Legend of Zelda" in which he presented a retrospecitve on the Zelda series, offered some ideas as to what makes a game "Zelda-esque", and shared some amusing insights on the development of recent Zelda games.

Kirby Delayed in Japan GBA

A major bug has caused Nintendo to indefinitely delay the latest GBA Kirby game.

Previously planning to release Kirby Mirror (Hoshi no Kirby: Kagami no Daimeikyu) just this week, Nintendo announced on Friday that a critical bug has been found in the game, forcing them to delay it until the problem can be fixed. They apologize to everyone who was planning on picking up the game for Spring Break.

Bigger GameCube Memory Cards Might be on the Way

According to Game Informer, Nintendo is planning on releasing a new official memory card for the GameCube. This new card will weigh in at more four times the size of the Memory Card 251. This card will hold 1019 blocks of memory. Finally, enough room to save a ton of Madden data.

Zelda Bonus Disc Offer for Australians GC

Turns out that you don't have to purchase a GameCube to get the Zelda Collector's Edition disc after all.

GameCube Price Drop and New Specs for Japan GC

Nintendo announces "new" prices for GameCube in Japan, as well as some minor changes to the hardware. UPDATE: New information from Nintendo of America.

According to an official release by Nintendo Co. Ltd. in Japan, as well as a report by Famitsu's website, there are some changes being made to the GameCube in Japan.

The system's price has been modified to now include tax. The actual price points are unchanged, but tax will no longer be added on top, so this is effectively a price cut of a few thousand yen. The change will be effective on March 22nd.

A rather interesting logo can be seen on Pikmin 2’s Japanese boxart on the bottom right:

Australia plays catch up to the rest of the world and finally gets the bonus collector's disc.

Well, it looks as though the fabled Legend of Zelda Collector's Disc is making its way to Australia at long last. After months without an announcement, the Collector's Disc quietly popped up in Target's upcoming catalogue (18th - 24th March) as part of a GameCube bundle.

Australian golfers had better get their putters prepared!

Nintendo Australia's site has been updated with details on their upcoming "Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour" secret challenges. Although US gamers have experienced similar challenges to these previously in Mario Golf 64 and Mario Tennis 64, this is the first time that a similar hidden competition mode has been added to the local release of the game. In previous titles, the Password Screens were removed.
