Devolver Digital is continuing to roll out new games for the Switch.
Their newest title is Gris (pronounced as it reads), developed by Nomada Studio and due on Switch later this year. An atmospheric platform title, Gris stars the title character, who explores a world that is constantly changing its form around her.

I've only been pimping this week's biggest release for longer than I've been writing here.
Appropriate for what happens to me on Wednesday, the big release of the week is something I preloaded several weeks ago. Cosmic Star Heroine, the two-man RPG with a soundtrack in that rare air of Xenoblade, finally comes home on Switch after I've banged on about it for five years and even interviewed Robert Boyd on the telethon. Let the ripping and/or tearing continue!
During their gameplay reveal for Doom Eternal at this years QuakeCon, Bethesda confirmed that Doom Eternal will release on Switch. This comes after Bethesda was vague during their initial reveal at E3 2018. Initial reports seem to indicate that Doom Eternal will launch on Switch on the same day as other platforms. As with the two previous Bethesda published shooters on Switch, Panic Button will be handling the port.

The stylish shooter experts are adding some brawling for their 2019 game.
After their debut had strong sales, Graceful Explosion Machine developers Vertex Pop have unveiled their colorful follow-up.
Super Crush KO is the Ontario-based firm's new project, currently slated for a 2019 release. The unnamed main character can fire guns and use punches and kicks to dispatch obstacles in a near-future world.

The best non-Mania Sonic game is coming out a bit earlier than expected.
Freedom Planet was originally due for a fall release on Switch, but it'll come in more than a month ahead of schedule.
XSEED have confirmed that the high-speed intergalactic platformer will now release on Switch on August 30 instead of the previously announced October release.
The game can be preloaded now on the Switch ahead of the release.

Nintendo Switch Online will be arriving later in September.
In a press statement sent to Nintendo World Report among other outlets earlier tonight, the service was revealed to be launching in the second half of September (16th - 30th).

A fun party game that probably shouldn’t be played on the bus despite its portability.
This morning, the makers of the hit VR party game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Steel Crate Games, announced the release date for the console version. At noon today, pre-orders will be available on the eShop with an official release date of August 16.
To go along with the announcement, Steel Crate Games has released a trailer inspired by board game commercials from the ‘90s.

Should be soon given we're in the season's second half.
A new Switch runner is leisurely loping to a summer release.
Joggernauts, developed by local multiplayer specialists Space Mace Games and published by Graffiti Games, will come out on Switch before the end of the summer. The game focuses on an alien jogging team who have to switch leaders depending on the obstacles and colors presented.

Ubisoft is filling in some more of their catalog on the Switch this fall.
Both Child of Light and Valiant Hearts: The Great War, two games that used the UbiArt framework, will come out on Switch in the coming months. Child of Light will come first on October 11, with Valiant Hearts following on November 8.

After a side trip to board games, they're going back to their roots.
Warner Bros. is bundling a couple of Scribblenauts titles for the Switch next month.
The Scribblenauts Mega Pack has drawn up a September 18 Switch release, for a starting MSRP of $39.99. The Mega Pack will contain Scribblenauts Unleashed and Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure.
Originally released in 2012 and 2013 respectively, both games were originally released on the Wii U.

Smash merchandise news has emerged following today's Direct, with special attention to Europe.
Nintendo of Europe have announced a limited edition bundle for Smash Ultimate that will include the game, a GameCube controller adapter, and a specially badged controller. No word yet on a release in North America.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is out at the end of September, but a taste is available now.
A demo for the strategy RPG is to go live today on the eShop. The demo covers the opening three chapters of the full game, as well as a demo-exclusive mission.
The game's digital preload will also be available today, and pre-orders will receive a DLC mission free. The mission will be available to other buyers on October 25 for US$4.99.

Nintendo has confirmed the 10th anniversary release of The World Ends With You will launch in North America on October 12, one week following Super Mario Party.

The distributor of Tiny Metal has announced an enhanced version of a PC visual novel for Switch later this year.
Unties, Sony Music's game publishing branch, have confirmed a console release for Tokyo Dark: Remembrance for winter 2018. The Switch version of the game will contain additional endings and other enhancements.

Wanted: A week that is anywhere near as dead as my Twitter account.
Forget a busy week, Tuesday alone would be enough to break most of us. There's the ultimate indie game - a randomly generated exploration platformer - in Dead Cells, or maybe you'd like to tackle the multiplayer mayhem of Overcooked 2. Flipping Death has been long anticipated, and there's something called Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo coming out on the heels of EVO 2018.

There will be a massive blowout of Smash Bros. Ultimate info this Wednesday.
Nintendo announced a Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct to air Wednesday at 10 a.m. Eastern / 7 a.m. Pacific at the EVO fighting game tounament. The presentation will be headed by Masahiro Sakurai.
The last two Smash Bros. specific presentation aired in December 2015, and announced Bayonetta and Corrin as the final DLC for the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash.

The arcade hit can now be played multiplayer anywhere you want.
Slamming flying discs are about to return to Nintendo consoles.
DotEmu have announced that they will be publishing Windjammers on Switch later this year. Originally released for Neo Geo in 1994, it was originally sold on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan but was delisted in 2010, and re-released on PlayStation Vita and PS4 last year.
