Nintendo has sold their ten millionth Wii in Japan, according to Enterbrain (via Kotaku). The Famitsu publisher has released figures showing that Wii sales in the territory standing at 10,009,736. The system has been on store shelves for 170 weeks..
In comparison, the PlayStation 2 reached the same mark in only 131 weeks. However, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 lag far behind, sitting at 4,766,408 and 1,235,049 consoles sold respectively.
At their recent Media Summit, Nintendo announced that 76 Wii games have sold more than 1,000,000 units globally, 54 of which are third-party titles.
