During the “GameCube in Shibuya” game exposition, PGC got to speak with representatives about Kyojin no Doshin (Doshin the Giant). Hear all the news here first about the ex-64DD/now GameCube project!

Kyojin no Doshin is currently 80% complete. The person that walked Badukan through the demo for about 30 minutes said they are still tweaking the AI for the game. They have still not decided on the marketing approach they are going to take with marketing Doshin to the Japanese market.

When asked if he thought Nintendo would release Kyojin no Doshin in America, the Param rep responded, “It depends on reaction of the Japanese market”

According to Badukan, here are his super quick thoughts about the game:

It’s very unique, a cross between Pikmin, Sim City, Populous, and the village level in Actraiser. The graphics for Doshin are ok, but still need work. There is still some pop up to be fixed. The water effects are alright. I couldn’t catch much of the background music. But sound effects and control are top notch. Controlling the camera with the c-stick is smooth. The graphics in truth, pale when compared with Pikmin though. But with everything above I still like Doshin.

Update: Supposedly they want to incorporate a "photo album feature" ala Pokemon Snap where you could take pictures in the game, and get them printed out somewhere. How this, or if this will be implemented in time for release is unknown. The developers want to add it, but don't know if they'll get it added to the game in time.
