XSEED's bringing you more Switch action.

Fate/Extella was announced for the Switch at today's Nintendo Direct.

Already out on PlayStation 4, the action title puts you in a role as a master who works with spirits that battle large amounts of enemies.

It will arrive in North America on July 25, Japan on July 20 and Europe 21 July, and will include 35 character outfits that were previously paid DLC.

Praetor, we have made it to the new lands of a new system!

I love the game on the PS4, and am so happy to see the game being on more platforms. I'm enough of a stupid fanboy of the greater universe this game is attached to that I'll buy the game twice.

Speaking of that universe, I don't know if this game will be received very well. The gameplay is a competent and faster derivative of the Dynasty Warriors action. The true appeal of the game is the verbose and super-anime visual novel portion. Unfortunately, this is a follow-up to a two-title PSP RPG series where only the first game (Fate/EXTRA) was officially released in English. Having played Fate/EXTRA before playing Fate/Extella, I don't see players connecting strongly with the characters if they come in to Fate/Extella cold. Heck, I kinda don't see anyone enjoying the story very much if they don't have any affinity for the TYPEMOON universe.

Whoever's reviewing the game wants some one to talk/explain the lore, I'll be happy to help. It's not too hard; most of the universe is just an excuse to have gender-bent historical and mythological figures duel to the death.
