A recent unofficial translation of CoroCoro, a Japanese magazine, more details on the upcoming Pokémon X and Y were revealed.

Three new chracters have been confirmed to be in the game. First is Sansa, who had appeared in one of the earlier trailers for the game following the player into a forest. The second character, Pansy, had originally appeared in the Pokémon anime. The third is a gym leader, Viola who uses bug-type Pokémon.

Other characters named to appear in the game are the player's rival, Callum or Serena, whose identity depends on the gender selected by players.

Finally, three new Pokémon were given names in Japanese, a lion cub Pokémon named Shishiko who is a fire/normal type, Furabebe who is a fairy-type, and Vivllon's pre-evolutions named Kofukimushi and Kofuurai.
