Titled Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero, the Fall 2008 release will be a direct sequel to the Wii game.

In March of this year, a listing on Gamefly hinted at a sequel to the 2006 Wii release Elebits for the DS. Surprisingly enough, Konami has revealed that the sequel is indeed heading to the DS this fall.

The game, titled Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero, is a direct sequel to the original and will continue Kai's story as he works together with the titular energy-providing creatures. The crux of the game is based on finding omega Elebits, which hold special powers.

As opposed to the original game's first-person perspective, Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero will make use of an isometric perspective to solve puzzles such as lighting the darkness and freezing flowing water with the creatures. The game will also make use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for head-to-head battles and will feature four player local matches.

Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero will hit stores this fall.

They could of done same FPS aspect on DS. I have no clue why they decided to do the game like this:

ughhh it looks so crappy

At what cost?

Being that the first Elebits was a lot of fun, I'll give them a little benefit of the doubt with this new direction.
Although didn't this same team make Dewy's Adventure? I didn't really have too much fun with that game...

Actually, I LOVE this direction even if it dispenses with the FPS thing. The game gives off a real DragonQuest Monsters: Rocket Slim e vibe, which is lovely, absolutely lovely.

Hmm, this might be interesting, however I would have rather seen Konami make a Wii sequel where they touched up some of the rough patches of the first title.

I don't think the DS could handle elebits in FPS mode, it can't display much stuff in 3d and I don't think elebits works wtih near empty rooms and only 2-3 creatures on screen at a time.

Would be interested in a Wii sequel, this not so much. It's hard to think what they could have added to Elebits though. Better framerate and new areas wouldn't be that much.

QFT. This makes as much sense as a DS version of Wii sports.

I traded the Original.  I don't think it grabbed me or enchanted me or anything.

I think those screenshots look pretty nice, but I don't know why they didn't just forget about the Elebits branding and make this a completely new game.  It's not like the Elebits story is anything special.

The first Elebits was good for a rental only.  Pass on this downgraded DS sequel.

I liked the Wii game, I only sold it because it had a 109 block save file. When Nintendo gives me a storage solution I plan on picking it up again.

KDR_11kJuly 06, 2008

Looks like a Zelda-like puzzle game to me, is that really a downgrade?

I'd agree. That game was extremely underwhelming and people only talk about it still because it was an original IP newly on Wii using Wii's fancy new technology. Only a coupke of notches above Feel The Magic.

MarioJuly 08, 2008

WRONG. It's one of the best games on Wii.

Feel the Magic (and the sequel) is also very good and an artistic masterpiece.

I wouldn't call it one of the best but its a pretty solid game. It has its problems but its an entertaining game.
I think Jonny's comments about it being a rental is right on the money. It'd also probably be a purchase since I'm pretty sure its cheap now.

The multiplayer was pretty terrible though...
