GameStop and EB Games Team up with Nintendo for an exclusive early release.
Nintendo will be offering Pikmin 3 digital copies a day early to customers who pre-order it during a hands on event at select GameStop locations on July 20 and 21.
Announced by Reggie Fils-Aime in a video on YouTube, these hands-on events will be happening in GameStops in North America and EB Games in Canada spread out in over 250 locations. Pikmin 3 releases on August 4 in North America only on the Wii U.

Soul Saga’s Kickstarter has reached its $150,000 stretch goal: Guild Battles.
After reaching $125,000 in pledges, the Guild Master function was introduced, allowing Soul Saga’s main character, Mithos, to expand his team with more playable characters. Now, this new combat mode will allow you to split your guild into teams for large scale battles against hordes of enemies.

Olimar returns for another round.
Captain Olimar and his trusty Pikmin will return in the next incarnation of Super Smash Bros.
This news comes directly from the official Super Smash Bros. site. In the pictures released with his reveal, Olimar appears to use red, yellow, blue, white and purple Pikmin. There is no mention of any other types of Pikmin, but his character page does suggest players check out Pikmin 3.

Download the new DLC games and use your StreetPasses and Play Coins to get more hats!
The four new games in the StreetPass Plaza are now available for purchase in North America. The update and games were first made available in Europe and Japan last month.
In North America, the games are called Mii Force, Flower Town, Warrior's Way, and Monster Manor. Each one is available for $4.99, or as a four-game bundle for $14.99.

UPDATE: All characters have been announced.
Seven new characters are being added to Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien through the "Good Friends" DLC pack.
Gaijin Games will be revealing the characters up until the launch of the DLC pack on Steam this Thursday. The console version of the pack has been confirmed, but no date has been set.

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comic Adventure has been confirmed for a September 24 release on Wii U and 3DS in North America, confirming a rumor from earlier this year.

You may want to buy multiple copies of this one.
An entry of the Fire Emblem series on Wii U would need to sell at least 700,000 units according to Hitoshi Yamagami, a manger and producer from Group No. 2 of the Software Planning & Development Department.
In comparison, Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS sold 900,000 copies globally while the Wii entry sold 460,000 units. No Fire Emblem game for the Wii U has been announced yet.

UPDATE: Official confirmation! Free money for buying games? Finally!
If you buy Fire Emblem: Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV, you are eligible for $30 eShop credit through Club Nintendo in the United States and Canada.
It doesn't matter if you get the games via digital or retail, or even if you bought the limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS. Just make sure you register the games by August 31, and you will receive the credit starting as early as July 16, which is the day Shin Megami Tensei IV comes out.

Ubisoft's support is dwindling.
ZombiU was "not profitable," and there "are no plans (or even desire) for a sequel," according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

E-books and video games living in harmony.
At the Tokyo International Book Fair, Dai Nippon Printing revealed that they will be working with Nintendo to bring out a new e-book reader for children on the Nintendo 3DS this fall.
Like many publishers, Dai Nippon has recently been focusing on its e-book market, so in order to expand, they’re teaming up with Nintendo to bring the downloadable reader named honto to Japan later this year.

Still no word on a North American release.
Over 200,000 3DS owners have purchased at least one of the new games released as DLC in the StreetPass Mii Plaza.
This information was revealed by Iwata in a recent shareholders Q&A. He went on to emphasize that Nintendo "employed no mass-media advertising so we think we are off to a good start."

Intelligent floating sword? Yes, please.
A new Pokémon has been announced: Ghost-type/Steel-type Honedge.
Honedge, the first Ghost-type/Steel-type Pokémon, takes the form of a sword, and is able to remove its sheath (using its cloth-like arm) to attack opponents.
