Site launches with an impressive list of music talent; daily updates promised.

The countdown is over. The Smash Bros. Dojo has finally relaunched and is promising daily weekday updates from this point forward. There aren't any new character announcements or videos to accompany the reopening, but there is an insight into the game's music team. Its very large, star-studded music team. Before getting to that, though, here's a rundown of what the blog-structured site has updated with.

The first blog post shows players how to play the game. Anyone who has been rapidly hitting F5 at the site should already know the basics, but a few screenshots demonstrating the actions show parts of what appears to be a previously unseen stage.

The name will be gone, but the team behind the recent Game Boy Zelda and Kirby games will still be at Capcom.

Much like the closure of Clover Studio, Capcom has decided to put its Flagship team back under the Capcom umbrella of developers. GameSpot reports that no one will be laid off in this studio "closure," and that the only thing that will change is "the company name on [Flagship's] business cards." It is unclear if the team will stay together, or if its members will be distributed where needed on various projects.

Capcom Speaks on Downloadable Wii Games

by Steven Rodriguez - 1:16 P.M.

Capcom is ready to offer them but is waiting for Nintendo to get its act together.

Talking in a Q&A with game industry news site Gamasutra, Capcom's Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Research Christian Svensson let loose a little bit of his company's plans for the future. The discussion touched on downloadable games for all platforms, including what it will take to get it to happen on Wii.

Svensson first explains that Wii downloadable games have "some file size limitations that don't dovetail well with what we've currently got on PS3 and Xbox 360." This would seem to indicate that Wii Ware games need to be much smaller than those on other services, which would make sense considering the Wii's relatively small on-board storage space. That doesn't mean Capcom is shying away from the Wii, however. It wants to bring games like Street Fighter and Puzzle Fighter to the system and it believes the Wii has "a great audience for [that] type of content."

Nintendo Power says yes. The publisher says not so fast.

Impossible Mission is a platform game with puzzle elements where players assume the role of a secret agent who must infiltrate the facility of an evil genius in order to stop his destructive plans. Last year, System 3 acquired Epyx's assets to bring 80s-era game franchises such as California Games and Impossible Mission to Nintendo DS, Wii, and Sony PSP. This led Nintendo Power to speculate in their October issue that we could see Commodore 64 games on Virtual Console.

Another Milestone shooter is ported from Dreamcast.

Karous (Crows) is the most recent vertical shoot-em-up by Milestone and the last game published on the Sega Dreamcast, releasing only two months ago. The game, originally released on the Sega NAOMI arcade platform, is now being ported to a Nintendo system, according to O3 Entertainment.

Earlier in the year, O3 had hinted that the game would be coming, stating on their message boards, "Here is something to look forward to after Radio Allergy comes out." and providing a link to the Karous website. Rumors have recently cropped up about the game's possible port, and after speaking with O3 Entertainment, we can confirm that the game is indeed in development. Unfortunately, O3 was unable to tell us for which system, GameCube or Wii, the game will release. They are also unsure at this time whether or not there will be a North American localization.

Lara Croft's original adventure is sure to waggle your Wiimote.

IGN has learned that Tomb Raider: Anniversary Edition, a 10th anniversary reworking of the original PlayStation game, will be coming to the Wii sometime this year. An interview with Eidos president and CEO Bill Gardner confirms the news.

Details on how the game will work on the Wii are scarce, though Gardner does say that "[i]t's not a port. It's a unique version." He is, of course, referring to the fact that the game is under development for the PlayStation 2 (and PSP), and the bump up to the Wii will be bringing Wii-specific enhancements that should include purpose-built Wii controls.
