Majesco has just announced 2 Bomberman titles for GBA, and they'll be bringing Bomberman Generations to the NA GameCube!

MAJESCO ACQUIRES PUBLISHING RIGHTS TO THREE NEW ‘BOMBERMAN’ TITLES

Popular Series Makes First Appearance on Nintendo GameCube™;‘Bomberman Max’ Sequels Come to Game Boy® Advance This Spring

EDISON, NJ, January XX, 2002 – Majesco, one of the fastest-growing publishers of interactive entertainment software, today announced they have acquired the rights from Hudson Soft to publish three new titles from the popular ‘Bomberman’ franchise. Included in the agreement are Bomberman Generations for Nintendo GameCube, and Bomberman Max 2: Blue Advance and Bomberman Max 2: Red Advance, two exciting sequels to last year’s Bomberman Max, for Game Boy Advance.

“We are thrilled to be bringing one of the most popular game franchises of all time to such leading hardware platforms as the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance,” said Ken Gold, Vice President of Marketing for Majesco. “The style and appeal of Bomberman is timeless and our new offerings will appeal to the legion of established fans as well as those gamers new to the franchise.”

Making its first-ever appearance on Nintendo GameCube, Bomberman Generations takes full advantage of the powerful new console and offers players an all-new, adventure-based Bomberman experience. As Bomberman, players must navigate lush, cel-shaded 3D environments across five separate worlds each with 16 different areas as they attempt to stop the nefarious Hige Hige bandits.

Players will have to move fast to strategically drop bombs, blasting open new pathways leading to each level boss. Bombs can be combined with different elements to reveal new powers revolving around water, ice, wind, and light. Bomberman Generations features a fast-paced single player mode and multiplayer mode which returns Bomberman to its classic 2D grid-style design, for up to four players.

Adding portable excitement to the Bomberman world are Bomberman Max 2: Blue Advance and Bomberman Max 2: Red Advance for Game Boy Advance, two exciting sequels to last year’s Bomberman Max. Playing as either Bomberman (Blue version) or Max (Red version), players must once again battle the infamous Hige Hige bandits who have shrunk Bomberman and Max to the size of ants using their secret “Mini Mini” device. In order to return to their normal size, Bomberman and Max must drop bombs, complete puzzles, and destroy the devious shrinking device of their adversaries. Throughout the game, players collect, raise, and breed Charabom characters, then battle them against one another by utilizing the Link Cable.

A huge adventure filled with more than 80 arenas – each loaded with enemies and challenges -- gamers can take on the missions alone or via the Link Cable, inviting up to three friends to join the fray. Players can also link the Red and Blue versions to unlock 20 hidden levels and conquer the Bomberman universe.

Developed by Hudson Soft, Bomberman Generations, and Bomberman Max 2: Blue Advance and Bomberman Max 2: Red Advance are scheduled to ship this spring.
