From the majesty of Big Blue to the terror of Baby Park, it's all right here!

Nintendo has posted videos to their Japanese Youtube account showing the full content of the DLC releasing on April 23.

In addition to the previously known three characters, the trailer shows the two new cart and bike designs, as well as the eight courses that will be available.

The new courses are:

  • The previously shown Animal Crossing course
  • Nature Road (forest themed)
  • Lingling Metro (Japanese name; subway themed)
  • Big Blue from F-Zero

Meanwhile, the four retro courses are:

  • Ribbon Road (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
  • Cheese Land (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
  • Baby Park (Mario Kart Double Dash)
  • Neo Bowser City (Mario Kart 7)

The Japanese video can be seen here:

...while eight minutes of music and extended gameplay can be seen below.

Update: Extended looks at the tracks are now up on NWR TV.

Makes me wish I had a Wii U. So many good things in the download packs.
Makes me wish I could speak Japanese too.

Soooo 7 lap Baby Park, right?! Right!!?!?!

I really wish we had gotten a remake of a quality course like Waluigi Pinball instead of yet another retread of Double Dash's worst track. Still, Ribbon Road looks amazing and both Lingling Metro and Neo Bowser City look badass. Hey, at least we don't have 2 unnecessary Rainbow Roads again.

broodwars is wrong. Although Waluigi Pinball is fun, Baby Park is easily a great track. There is a good reason it's one of the most popular tracks in the Mario Kart series, it's fun and the perfect example of the craziness that the series represents.

As Tom Jones once said, it's not unusual.

Yeah. The first few times I played Baby Park in Double Dash, I didn't get it. It seemed to be the laziest course ever made. But then in as I played it with others, I realized the beauty of it and how brilliant it actually was with real humans and CPU all smashing and bashing each other where gains and losses occurred in every breathless short lap. A lot of courses you can build up a lead and protect yourself a bit more but with Baby Park, you know it's going to be a battle and warfare every time.

I'm a guy that thinks Mario Kart DS is the top of the Mario Kart franchise still with excellent courses everywhere and Waluigi Pinball is one of the best of those courses. But if I had to choose between it or Baby Park to include in another Mario Kart game, I gots to go with Baby Park.

Provided its done right. Unfortunately, it sounds like items don't careen around too freely with the median blocking them. Add in the fact that you can't carry two items at a time to further increase the chaos and this might not be the Baby Park we are looking for.

The new tracks look good, but the retro selections are some of the worst ones in the series.
