The upcoming 3DS remake makes saving your progress even easier.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D will reportedly include "feather statues" for saving your progress.

According to a translation of product listing on Amazon.de, "With the help of owl statues and the new feather statues, which can be found all over Termina, you can now save your adventure anytime you like."

In the original game, the only way to permanently save your progress was by playing the Song of Time, while the owl statues found throughout the game would only provide you with a temporary quick save.

It looks like these new feather statues will provide players on the go with an easier option for saving their progress. Considering many will likely be playing this handheld title in smaller bursts, this makes total sense.

Our own Neal Ronaghan has reason to believe Majora's Mask 3D will be on store shelves alongside the New 3DS very, very soon. Find out why right here.

So remind me again why being able to save anywhere is apparently a bad thing?

Bonus points if you can explain why saving anywhere in a HANDHELD title is a bad thing.

Saving anytime in a handheld title is a must so I'm fine with that.  But it should just be a quick save like a save state where you just resume where you are like the owl statues save in the original game.  I'm not even sure how it would work any other way.  The game needs to reset everything on a new three day cycle so you just need a way to save without having to reset the three days.
