The new footage shows that you can raid creatures with players all over the world!

Capcom's new trailer of Resident Evil: Revelations shows that in addition to the campaign, RE: Revelations offers a new raid mode for one or two players, who play co-op either locally or online.

The raid mode seems to be an evolution from RE: Mercenaries 3D and the Mercenaries of RE 4 and 5. Like them, each numbered stage has a time limit, and the result of performance is graded. Players can select characters, some of whom are seemingly playable only in this mode. Unlike Mercenaries 3D, however, the raid mode offers a lobby for players to be matched up. Besides that, weapons are customizable with custom parts that players get in stages, and can level up.

Resident Evil: Revelations will be released January 26, 2012 in Japan, January 27 in Europe, and February 7 in North America.

This game is going to be amazing, I can't wait. I hope to play with everyone.

it would be kinda awesome if the game was broken into acts, each a different feel. Survival Horror, Action, Stealth

But if you think about it, the game is like that the whole time in its own way.

At this point it seems like the only reason this game isn't titled Resident Evil 6 is that it's on a handheld.

Does it even matter whether Revelations isn't a numbered entry? Capcom doesn't seem to have a system for which games deserve a numbered title. Code Veronica is arguably more important than Resident Evil 3 plot wise and didn't receive a number. It could have been either numbered 3 or 4 depending on how you view Nemesis. Apparently, the only reason Nemesis was given a numbered title is because it was on Playstation. Revelations is an interquel with 2 returning characters who we know make it to RE5. Despite its title, I'm curious what could possibly be revealed in this game that could blow the entire series' plot wide open, if anything. It seems more like a side-story that doesn't and won't affect the greater story arc of the series.

Hard.

This rips off Mercenaries head and shits down it's neck.

Indeed. I said all along that The Mercenaries 3D never made sense as a standalone product, and clearly, with the addition of this Raid mode in Revelations, it has been rendered more or less irrelevant.

Also, can I just say this game looks really sharp? It may even surpass Resident Evil 4's visuals. Nice work exploiting the hardware, Capcom.

You know what I hear. Fire Sale on Mercenaries.
