2008 NWR Awards

Wii - Best Value

Every year we like to recognize the best in gaming on Nintendo consoles.

Wii - Best Value

The NWR Award

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is THE most played game on the Wii, at least according to user statistics on the Nintendo Channel. If that's not value, what is?

How about 35 characters? 41 stages? 36 composers spread across more than 280 song tracks? Don't forget the user-created levels, multiple game modes, video replay ability, snapshots, the cinematic FMVs, and the most inclusive customizable control scheme ever. There are enough trophies and stickers to collect to get lost forever in Nintendo history and nostalgia, and more than enough Pokémon and niche characters to make every Pokéball and Assist Trophy a surprise.

And then, of course, there's the never-ending multiplayer. Wii Sports is the game that comes with every Wii, but Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the game that stays in every Wii. This fact makes it our choice as the Best Value on Wii in 2008.

Runner-up:

The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
