UPDATE: After revisiting the booth at TGS, I asked the rep about the possibility of wireless headsets in the future. He said they were working on them, but they wanted to have at least something for Wii U users at launch, hence only wired sets for now. (JC)

Try Capcom's Lost Planet spin-off for free in the near future!
During the presentation of EX Troopers at Tokyo Game Show 2012, Capcom announced that there will be a free demo for both the PS3 and 3DS versions of the game. This was reported by the Japanese outlet 4gamer, who was at the presentation in question. The demo in question should hit before the game's November 22nd release date, though no further specific details were given.

Nintendo has launched an endorsement partnership with 16 year old gymnast Gabrielle Douglas, 2012 Olympic gold medal winner. Gabby "The Flying Squirrel" Douglas will be participating in Nintendo's new "Play As You Are" campaign designed to show women and girls that you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy the 3DS.

The second patch for the game finally arrives for 3DS owners.
The second patch for New Love Plus for the Nintendo 3DS is now available to gamers in Japan.
The patch, which was made available on September 19, fixes and improves various issues with the game such as improving the SpotPass functionality, ToDo event and resumption, operability of the album and schedule input screens as well as general improvements making the game run faster and be easier to use.

Third-party titles for Wii U make surprise appearances at the show.
Namco Bandai and Tecmo Koei both have playable Wii U demos at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
Namco Bandai is demoing both Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tank! Tank! Tank!. Koei Tecmo is showing off Musō Orochi 2 Hyper (Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper in the West) and Sangokushi 12 (Romance of the Three Kingdoms 12).

Club Nintendo members can now purchase the WiiWare title PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit for 150 coins. PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit replaces Super Smash Bros. as a reward and will be redeemable until September 30, 2012.

The 3DS XL just got bigger.
Nintendo has updated their Japanese website with a new image of what the Nintendo 3DS XL's Circle Pad Pro will look like on the new system.
The device, just like the original Circle Pad Pro for the launch version of the 3DS, will add a second Circle Pad to the handheld to allow for additional control schemes in games that require extra precision.

You won't be blasting Metroids with your friends across the country.
Nintendo Land will not feature any kind of online multiplayer play, according to Bill Trinen during an interview with 1UP.
"It's not going to be played over the network," Trinen said when asked if the game would feature online play.
This doesn't necessarily mean there will not be online interactions, just no playing with friends who are not in the room.

It can be taken away from the system a good distance, but not overly far.
The Wii U GamePad has the best performance when within approximately 24 feet of the system, according to Bill Trinen in an interview with 1UP.
"They had a very precise number at one point. In meters it's like eight meters. In feet it's about 24 feet. That's for best performance," Trinen said when asked whether there was a limit to the controller's range.

This is why we didn't get a white or silver 3DS XL.
White and silver colored Nintendo handhelds don't generally sell well in North America, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.
Japan and Europe both got lighter colored systems at the 3DS XL's launch. North America, however, was left to choose from either red or blue.

While the game is in the very early stages, we could be playing it in the not too distant future.
Australian developer Nnooo has revealed that they are currently planning and already have an early game concept for the Wii U. This information comes from an aussie-gamer interview.
Creative Director Nic Watt stated that the team hopes to start prototyping within the next month or so and that he wants the turn-around to be quite fast.

The upcoming Nintendo 3DS eShop title, The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, is now slated to be $9.99 in North America instead of the originally posted price of $7.99, a new listing on the official Nintendo of America website revealed. No reason for the change in price has been given.

The Wii U version has five hours of additional content from the get-go.
Darksiders II will be fully playable on the Wii U GamePad and will support all past and future downloadable content, a THQ representative stated at the Wii U preview event last week.
The developers at Vigil Games had previously discussed their intentions for the GamePad for this new edition of the post-apocalyptic action-adventure, but this event was the first time the controller functionality was officially shown off.
