A new Gym system, items, group raids, and more.

An update to the existing Pokémon Go Gym system will be slowly rolling out around the world over the next few weeks. In order to prepare for the update Pokémon currently in Gyms will return to their owners. The Gym update will consist of multiple changes.

Gyms will soon also function as PokéStops. Similar to existing PokéStops, players can spin the Photo Disc to get items.

A beloved PlayStation 4 adventure game will release on the Switch next year.

2064: Read Only Memories was announced for a Switch release a short time ago by the game's official Twitter account. The M-rated adventure is set in the city of Neo San Francisco in the year 2064, and involves using hyper-sentient AI to attempt to solve a kidnapping.

Nintendo is finally bringing back some sweet 2D Metroid action

Nintendo showed off a fair bit of content and information for the newly announced soon-to-be released 3DS game Metroid Samus Returns on their Treehouse Live E3 2017 stream.

Super Mario Odyssey won't just have to be a solo adventure.

During a demo for the game today, a local co-op option was shown using two Joy-Cons. The second player controls Cappy, who can attack independently of Mario and also provide a platform for extremely long jumps.

Other control methods for the co-op were not discussed.

Miitopia or Brain Training aren't the only demos of the week after all.

During the second Treehouse Live segment of the day, a demo was announced for Ever Oasis. The demo will be live as of approximately 3 p.m. Eastern time / noon Pacific time.

On this, the final day (ever?) of E3, there are still some digital things coming out on the eShops. In fact, Nintendo is wasting no time getting back on the big release train with ARMS releasing tomorrow. Switch owners have had a couple of opportunities to check the game out in the last few weeks, so be ready to punch the night away tomorrow night.

Just what do the new Mario Odyssey Amiibo do?

Nintendo released a video highlighting various aspects of Super Mario Odyssey, with Amiibo details being the highlight.

The video features Kenta Motokura, Super Mario Odyssey's game director, talking about various aspects of the game, including the story and the new "capturing" mechanic that allows Mario to take control over enemies and other characters.

Try Nintendo's upcoming 3DS title before you buy.

A demo of Miitopia will be hitting the North American eShop later today. This demo features the beginning of the game and progress players make can be transferred over to the final version when it releases.

This information was revealed at the end of the Miitopia segment during Nintendo's Treehouse Live segment.

Western Switch fans will be waiting a while for a Monster Hunter title.

Shigeru Miyamoto confirms Pikmin's fourth instalment is in still in development.

Pikmin 4, which was absent at this years E3, is "progressing", legendary Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto said.

In an interview with Eurogamer's Tom Phillips, Miyamoto says that the Pikmin 4 project is still in development, though he couldn't say much more at the moment.

"I've been told not to share anything about this from PR," Miyamoto told him, "but I can tell you it is progressing."

High demand has halted the discussion for now.

Boutique game distributor Limited Run Games has been in discussions with Nintendo about beginning to ship Switch titles, but plans have been put on hold due to high demand.

A few more goodies than the North American version

The European special edition of Metroid: Samus Returns is going all out.

According to Nintendo's UK site, a special edition will be available for the game that includes a steelbook, a gold "S" pin, an artbook, a soundtrack selection CD, a Morph Ball-styled keyring and a download code for Metroid II: Return of Samus on 3DS.

You'd have to buy that DLC separately if you get the digital release!

Lego Worlds is coming to Nintendo Switch this fall, and it will be available via both physical retail and digital eShop releases.
