The passing of the torch

by Billy Berghammer - December 3, 2000, 1:15 pm EST

Billy steps down as webmaster and editor-in-chief, passing these duties to Justin and Max, respectively.

It comes a time to make some staff changes here at PlanetN2000. I have grown rather busy with my career and I have had to make a hard decision. I will be stepping down from my position as Webmaster and Editor in Chief for PlanetN2000.

Due to the fact that my responsibilities and work load have demanded a lot of my time, I have little free time to handle the daily dedication that PlanetN2000 requires. This was not an easy decision to make. I will not be disappearing off the face of the earth however. I don’t think that would be possible. I will be taking more of a “Directorial” role in Planet. I will be assisting with the next version of Planet, as well as handling business and PR affairs. And yes, maybe I’ll even get to write once in a while. Or even play games. Well, at least, I don't think I'll have a hard time with the game thing. :)

So without further ado, I’d like to congratulate Max Lake for taking over as Editor-In-Chief of PlanetN2000. Look out! O-HI-O comin’ ‘atcha. I’ve transferred Louie over to Ohio for a while to keep an eye on Max to make sure all goes well. Remember Max, Louie has big teeth. Grrrrrr.

The illustrious Justin Nation is the man with the mad skillz takin’ over at Webmaster. He’s got something killer brewing for the next Planet. It will surely be a wonderful new Planet.

I know if anyone can take PlanetN2000 to the next level it’s our staff. I wouldn’t have wanted these nutballs on staff if that weren’t so.

So without getting all wet Kleenex sappy and crap like that, I also wanted to thank you the readers out there for your support of Planet. I’ll miss being the EIC and Webmaster of PlanetN2000, but I think it’s for the better. There’s no way in hell I would even think about closing this sucker. PlanetN2000 has come a long way in its short life, and we haven’t even gotten our grubby hands on a Gamecube yet.

Keep an eye on us. Lots o’ big things still on the horizon for our lil’ site here.

Word.

B
