Konga Beach Reaches London ZooGC

We visit the Konga Beach Road Trip as it arrives at London Zoo.

Today was the first day of a two-day stop at London Zoo for the Nintendo Konga Beach Tour Truck. The area near the children’s playground was cleared to make room for the activities and on entering participants are provided with a map that doubles as an entry card for the Donkey Konga tournament.

To enter the tournament first three “beach games” had to be completed. Pikmin Slingshot involves catapulting plush Pikmin through a basketball hoop, in Feed the Apes bananas are thrown through a board with holes for DK and Diddy’s mouths, and Mario Surf Run has people running down a slide whilst attached to a bungee cord.

Registration for Nintendo's annual online summer camp, Camp Hyrule, is now open to the public. In Camp Hyrule, Nintendo fans from all over can get together in their assigned cabins and talk about all things Nintendo. There are games to play all official Nintendo chats to go to. Registration is simple. First, you'll need a My Nintendo account on Nintendo's official website. After you've got one, or if you already do, just head on over to the Camp Hyrule website and register by entering your My Nintendo username and password.

Atlus Announces Five DS Games

Atlus announced five Nintendo DS titles on its Japanese website today. Atlus praised the Nintendo DS for the flexibility two screens allows. As an example, the press release explains how a game can display a close up of a character while still showing the game field in their role playing game. Yes, that’s right, Atlus is working on a RPG for the Nintendo DS. Here are the five announced games with their tentative titles (machine translated) and genres.

Zelda Four Swords DS Confirmed

Nintendo’s official Spanish magazine solidly confirms what we’ve all expected, straight from the producer himself.

In a recent interview with Eiji Aonuma, producer of the Zelda series, Spanish magazine Club Nintendo revealed that Zelda: Four Swords is in the works for the upcoming handheld.

EA: The Zelda team is already planning Four Swords for the Nintendo DS. This game will have a lot of connectivity and feature a lot of interaction between both screens. It will be interesting.

He certainly hinted at this game at GDC in his presentation and interviews, but now it is official. Mr. Aonuma also discusses the new GameCube Zelda’s more realistic feel and graphical detail, as well as the possibilities of Link in a romantic relationship. All you need to do is get to San Diego in the next four days.

Thanks to a tip from one of our readers, we've found out that Nintendo has a booth this year at the San Diego Comic-Con. Convention goers will have the opportunity to play two huge upcoming Nintendo Gamecube titles, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Resident Evil 4. Along with these titles there are also some Game Boy Advance demos.

Other companies, including Konami, EA, Activision, and THQ also have booths at the cons with demos of their games.

The San Diego International Comic Convention runs from July 22nd to the 25th and is being held at the San Diego Convention Center. Entry costs $60 for a four day pass, or anywhere between $15 and $30 for a single day (depending on which day it is).
