Nelson: Ha ha!

This just reported by ON24.COM .. Sony recalls 1.2 million software discs (there .. happy?) due to the problems with the DVD software, and the fact that users can punch in certain keypad sequences during boot up to allow the unit to play foreign movies not intended for the Japanese market.

Sony intends on offering an incentive to get customers to exchange the discs (yea, right!) .. by offering "upgraded sound capabilities" made possible by the replacement software. What is this? Upgraded firmware that get's flashed to the unit with the new disc? Please.

Yahoo, Yahoo, A Pirate's ...

Again, the Planet proves itself the premiere source for awful puns.

Yahoo! Yahoo! A pirate's life for me .. OK, corny pun. Ever been through the Pirates of the Carribean at Disneyland? Too close to resist .. sorry .. sue me, I have no assets.

Anyway, it seems that Nintendo, Sega, and EA are filling a lawsuit against Yahoo! for aiding and abetting known software piraters. And rightly they should! I'm sure you've heard this already, but here it again in glorious audio at the link above.

Can I Speak With Mario?

It's a me! Mario!

ON24.COM recently reported on the rumor that Nintendo is rumored planning to incorporate cell phone functionality in it's upcoming Game Boy Advance. What is interesting, was that the story also stated that Nintendo may start selling adapters before the arrival of the GBA that would add cell phone functionality to existing Game Boy systems ...

ON24.COM also stated that this is unconfirmed by Nintendo, at this point.

It is also unknown, and perhaps unlikely that the US market will see these features. Cell phones in Japan are much more common than in the US, as their usage in Japan is actually less expensive than using traditional land lines.

Saffire Shooter Movie!

Daaaaaaaaamn.

Coming as a splendid suprise today, IGN unveiled the first ever movie footage of Saffire's next-generation first-person shooter. IGN64 claim that the movie is a must and they're not wrong. Saffire's movie contains some amazing simulated gameplay footage meaning that it is not running on actual next-generation hardware, but it is what Saffire is hoping to acheive with the final game. This was supposedly shown to a potential "major" publisher and IGN64 were not allowed to reveal exactly what possible license the game is using, let alone what next-generation console the game will appear on. Rather than sitting here and speculating about the game, PlanetN2000 commands you to click on the link to download a movie of a game that will literally blow you away. Two words, Subway battle!

More to be known about the GBA...real soon! Nintendo will be holding a GDC for the GBA on April 10th! Unfortunately it's only open to "official Game Boy developers". Boooooo! Oh well, I'm sure we will be finding out a whole lot of juicy things about our next handheld jem! And maybe a little more about how it will interact with the Dolphin. Here's the biz...

On April 10, 2000, Nintendo will hold the Game Boy Advance Game Developers Conference 2000, a by-invite only forum where official Game Boy developers find out once and for all what the Game Boy Advance is all about. Check out this movie of Picassio to get an idea of what to expect from the Dolphin game!

For their upcoming first-person strategy/stealth game Picasso, developers Promethean Designs have released a video promotion showing off the game to the public. The boys over at IGN64 have posted this and the link is here for you click but be warned this comes with a price. The file is approximately 75MB in size and only recommended for users with very high transfer rates. Looks like seeing a Dolphin title in motion has a price and if your willing to download for 6 hours (at 56K speed) enjoy the movie!

H20 to do the Dolphin

by Kosta Andreadis - 1:18 A.M.

Nintendorks speak with H20 about future Dolphin projects, we've got the summarized statement here...

Reading the Dorks recent excellent interview with developers H20 discussing their upcoming N64 RPG Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage it became apparent that the company may have a title in the works for the Dolphin. We say might have because the company has taken the familiar route of vagueness that is indicative of all Dolphin developers at this current point in time. Interviewer Scott Fink asked the right questions but credit is given to H20 to at least providing a good read.

Particle Systems may have Dolphin in its future. Here's what we got...

UK based developers Particle Systems, who were the guys behind the acclaimed Independance War are actively seeking programmers for all next-generation consoles, including the Big D.

"As Particle Systems diversifies into console games on platforms such as Dreamcast, Dolphin and Playstation 2 we require top-level programmers with the skills to get the best out of the exciting new hardware.
