On a bad week to have a name that start with "Mar", there's not much attending the joint funeral.
After the absolute insanity of last week in which 50 games and Balan Wonderworld came out, this week is a quarterly-transition induced week of sanity. The biggest titles are early in the week with platformer Narita Boy coming out on Tuesday and car combat game Drive Buy following up on Wednesday.

Earlier today multiple outlets posted previews for the upcoming New Pokémon Snap. While the demo was only viewed by reporters and not playable, their previews did outline a ton of new features for the new title. We've taken the liberty of noting some of the more notable additions to the game down below.

"Encouraging walking"... sure, that works.
Nintendo's first mobile project in two years will be a co-production with Niantic.
In a release on the Nintendo corporate site Nintendo have announced a joint production with Niantic centered on Pikmin and using Niantic's alternate reality (AR) technology. Although not named, the app is "designed to encourage walking" and concept art shows Pikmin carrying objects in the environment.

A massive week (as would be expected with the end of calendar Q1 and fiscal Q4) is headlined by, of course, Monster Hunter Rise. An old friend of Nintendo platforms is returning to video games following a nearly decade-long absence.
2K have reached an agreement with Tiger Woods to include his likeness in future PGA Tour games, beginning with this year's release. The first PGA Tour-licensed game from 2K did release on Switch last August.

Originally it was the day the music died - now 3D World gets the biggest slice of the pie.
As Mario's 35th anniversary celebrations wind down, the plumber picked up one more US sales victory according to the NPD Group's sales survey for February 2021.
Unless noted, all rankings and figures are based on dollar sales for the period of January 31 - February 27. Digital sales for Nintendo and Atlus published games on Switch are not included, though other 3rd parties do report their sales.

Toad and Rosalina will have to wait for their 4" cat variations.
Cat Peach is getting her own figure from Jakks Pacific as part of a 3-pack due out this fall that also comes with Cat Mario and Cat Luigi.
The 4" Super Mario 3D World-inspired figures feature multiple points of articiulation and also include a Cat Bell power-up item. The trio will be sold for $29.99. Cat Mario and Cat Luigi were previously available, but Cat Peach is a brand new figure.

Modus Games have confirmed the storybook style platformer Lost Words: Beyond the Page will release on Switch and other consoles on April 6. Previously, the game was exclusive to the embattled Google Stadia streaming service.

A classic Bowser airship is becoming a toy this fall from Jakks Pacific.
The Deluxe Bowser Ship Playset retails for $39.99 and includes a 2.5" Mario figure. Some big monsters of Monster Hunters past and present will be coming to Rise.
The original demo released in January will be updated this Thursday (the 11th), adding a third monster in the game mascot Magnamalo (joining the Great Izuchi and Mizutsune). The play counts will be reset, and rewards will be included with this new version of the demo.

First Crash Bandicoot storms Nintendo HQ, now he's crashing Mario's 35th (and final) birthday.

Pyra and Mythra are about to blast into Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
