IGN Cube has received information that answers a question that many of us have had about the GameCube. "Can I import a GCN and play US games?"

The answer appears to be a simple, "No." Not unlike other consoles from Nintendo (Game Boy notwithstanding), a regional lockout will be present in the system. No specifics on the lockout were given, no doubt to slow down the start of the reverse engineering process.

At least a couple PGC staffers will be getting import units to ensure that we have first impressions available for you as soon as possible. The rest of us hardcore gamers will wait in lines just like the rest of you. Novemeber can't come soon enough.
