Happy Labour Day! The Switch is coming up on a magic number in North America: the Wii U released 1040 games in its lifetime in the territory, which the Switch might pass this week depending on how many things have to be added to this list post-facto (the number is currently 1017 at press time, which means six more ties and seven wins). ETA Friday: Two short of the tie. The big ones are from NISA, who publish God Wars on Tuesday and follow back with SNK Heroines on Friday. One was a Vita game, and some would say the other should've been, but beggars can't be choosers. The 3DS also has a pair of card games, though they're one for us, in Yo-Kai Watch Blasters. And then 2K drops the Anniversary Edition of NBA 2K19 on Friday (if you're not a Fire Emblem Heroes whale, check back next week).

After an aborted attempt a couple of weeks ago, Gone Home and Broforce are finally out this week, joining Hyper Light Drifter in the list of big games finally hitting Nintendo platforms. The obscurity of the week is Shikhondo - Soul Eater, a Korean bullet hell shooter, and the Archives release of the week is Ninja Commando as we speak of shooters.

Japan has a couple of familiar titles this week, and at least three different candidates for the NWR Literature Club if it ever gets off the ground. The priciest of them is from Idea Factory, and their VN team will be spared when I become Video Game Czar in 2021 and shove their RPG / "comedy" team onto a rocket into the sun with David Cage.
