Creator of Mario wants outside studios to see the brilliance of Wii U.

Miyamoto is travelling and speaking with developers, hoping to promote the Wii U as a home for their current and next game projects.

In an interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that he has been personally speaking with third party development studios, sharing with them details on how to best take advantage of the Wii U. Miyamoto, currently the General Manager of Nintendo EAD, says that he isn't sharing any sort of technical information. He says he is well aware that these other studios know those aspects of development well, and sometimes excel in skills Nintendo does not. Instead, Miyamoto explains how to best use the Wii U, and how it differs from what the competition offers.

Miyamoto is stressing to publishers and developers that there is no secret Nintendo magic to impart. Nintendo has not withheld the ability to sell to Nintendo fans, clarifying that there is no recipe to success.

Miyamoto goes on to say that the Wii forced some publishers to not include the system as part of its multi-console releases, and that situation does not have to occur again with the Wii U. He says it's important for the company to change the way these businesses think so they deliver products to the Wii U.

To attract third parties you need an environment that suits their business model and allows them to make the games they want to make.  They won't give two shits about the Gamepad if it does not fit their business and creative plans.  The Wii was like going to a bunch of guitar players and telling them about your awesome trumpet.  Yeah, they could make music with it but it was not in the way they wanted so they passed.

I'm glad Miyamoto is mentioning multiplatform development but I'm still scared Nintendo is thinking about Wii U/PS3/Xbox 360 multiplatform releases which will relevant for like two years at the most.
