Every year we like to recognize the best in gaming on Nintendo consoles.
DS - Best Graphics
The love and care put into Final Fantasy IV's visuals on the DS rivals that of any home console game. Cecil and his compatriots are fantastically rendered in 3D, complete with charming acting and fluid animations in cut-scenes. The game's villains are equally endearing, with excellent texture work and unique battle animations. The environments are similarly impressive, with a wide variety of background props creating distinct personalities for the game's many locales.
With a beautiful (if slightly compressed) pre-rendered opening thrown in for good measure, there's little to fault in this portable title's graphics. Heck, mouth animations are even synched with the voiceovers—a clear indication of the level of polish put into this game's presentation.
