In a now removed video from Gamescom 2018, IGN has evidently revealed Peppy will be joining Fox on his journey through Atlas. Neither Ubisoft or Nintendo has commented on the reveal and the video was very quickly taken down. That being said, a quick screen grab of Peppy still gives us a great first look at Fox's stalwart mentor and friend.

Two in eight days, and yet there may not be repeats.
After the European presentation this week for Gamescom, Nintendo of America is throwing a pre-PAX party.
NoA have announced a Nindies Showcase video will air on Tuesday, August 28 ahead of the PAX West expo the following weekend. Previous Showcase videos have aired prior to Switch's launch, before PAX West 2017, and alongside the Game Developer's Conference this year.

July has become a Nintendo month.
July was Nintendo's best month of the year so far in the US NPD Group's sales survey.
All data is for the period of July 8 to August 4.
In hardware, the Switch was the best selling system of July on both a unit sales and dollar sales basis, with Nintendo reporting their highest hardware unit sales for a July since 2009. This sets a bound for combined Nintendo hardware sales of between approximately 650k (July 2010) and 832k (2009).

Wreck fools from Nashville to Norway, Bonaire to Zimbabwe
Arena of Valor's release window is narrowing, and it's added some nice features.
The 5v5 multiplayer battle arena game will launch in September, which goes along with the previously announced "Fall" release for the full game. The servers for the game will be global, making it possible to team up with and battle players from all over the world.

So you can actually fill in your choices for the final season.
The entire Telltale Walking Dead series is going to shamble onto the Switch by the end of the year.
Telltale has confirmed that 2012's Season 1 of their famous adventure series will launch on Switch next Tuesday (August 28) with Season Two to follow later this year. The Season 1 release will also include 2013's 400 Days expansion.

The Switch is about to get one of the wildest open-world games in history.
Saints Row The Third has been announced for Switch at the opening ceremony of Gamescom 2018 by THQ Nordic. Originally published by the previous incarnation of THQ in 2011, the game sets you as the created leader of the Saints gang who attempt to rebuild in the city of Steelport after a mission goes horribly wrong.

The Switch's 3D platformer game gets a fair bit cuter.
One of Steam's most beloved titles is coming to Switch.
A Hat In Time, the 2013 Kickstarter project that raised over $350,000 and released in October of last year on PC, has announced a Switch release. No release date has been given.
Inspired by N64 platformers of the late 1990s, the game is beloved by fans with nearly 7000 reviewers on Steam giving the game an "overwhelmingly positive" reception.

Getting in before the ponies.
Cries of "Mario? Maaaaario..." will come once again from the 3DS around the middle of October.
Nintendo have confirmed the 3DS remake of Luigi's Mansion will launch on October 12 in North America, with release on 19/20 October for Europe and Australia. For North America, the game's MSRP will be $39.99.

This Gamescom week brings a classic 90s flashback. It also brings Night Trap, so no joy there.
Although we don't have a price for it, we do have word that 2013 adventure darling Gone Home will finally come to a Nintendo system this week. (Not so much, as it turns out...) It was going to come to the Wii U at some point, but, well, Wii U. The week of Gamescom also saw no less than three shadow drops, as Bad North, Morphies Law, and Prison Architect are all on the eShop as of press time.

Nintendo of Europe has presented a "Indie Highlights" presentation today, outlining new titles coming to the Switch.
First out of the gate is Night Call, by Raw Fury. In the adventure game, you play a Parisian cab driver who helps to solve crime in the city. The noir style game launches in early 2019.

Pokemon Go players can catch Celebi starting August 20, Niantic announced today.
To catch Celebi, players must complete a series of special quests similar to spring's Mew quests. Celebi's quest line unlocks after completing the third of the seven Mew quests.
In celebration, Johto Pokemon will appear more frequently and HeartGold and SoulSilver clothing will be added to the store. A free Celebi t-shirt is available to all players.

As if we don't have enough grinding to do this fall.
After a leak yesterday, Blizzard has officially thrown back the curtain on Diablo III: Eternal Edition.
The isometric loot RPG will release this fall, as revealed in yesterday's deleted Forbes post. The promised Legend of Zelda themed content will also be present.
With the release, it marks the first time a Blizzard game has appeared on a Nintendo platform since the Nintendo 64's port of the original Starcraft in 2000.

Walmart stores in North America will be adding a new offering to the Switch lineup in a couple of weeks.
The bundle will retail for US$359.99, and will include download codes for both Mario Tennis Aces and 1-2-Switch. Both Joycon choices - monochrone or red/blue - will have the offer included.

Old School Musical is a rhythm title that tasks two 8-bit inspired characters with clearing classic video game challenges to the beat of chiptune music. Zaxxon, Outrun, and Mega Man are among the titles parodied.

We knew one was coming soon, but the other was out of nowhere.
Two notable titles have demos on the Switch eShop as of today.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate has a demo available for download now. Based on series tradition, the demo will feature three types of boss and multiple weapons to try as well as local and online multiplayer support.
The other unexpected demo is for Morphite. The space exploration title released last November on Switch from Crescent Moon Studios.

If a removed Forbes article is true, the Switch may soon be getting part of a renewed Diablo push from Blizzard.

Atlus is keeping up their 3DS support into next year.
Etrian Odyssey Nexus has been announced for the West, with a North American release date of February 5. The original Japanese version came out a few weeks ago
Intended as a swan song for the dungeon crawl/mapping series designed originally for the DS, Etrian Nexus contains all of the classes of the other games along with dungeons representative of each of the games.

Dark Souls will miss the summer after all, but only slightly.
Bandai Namco have confirmed the remastered version of the classic RPG will launch on Switch on October 19. The Solaire Amiibo will also come out on the same day.
