Tetris 99 is a 99-player Tetris game that pits players against each other in frantic online play.
Nintendo announced during today’s Nintendo Direct that Tetris 99 is hitting the Switch eShop after the presentation, but the online-centric game will be exclusively free to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
Tetris 99 is essentially the battle royale version of Tetris as the hook is that you play online against 98 other players at one time and try to quickly and efficiently play Tetris to win.

Sadly, it'll miss Endgame's launch.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is coming to Switch in the summer.
The action-RPG features four-player co-op locally and online, as well as dynamic camera angles to jazz up the action. Alliance Extreme co-op attacks are also visually impressive ways to wreak havoc. The presentation during the Nintendo Direct also highlighted Captain Marvel, which makes sense since she’s starring in her own movie in March.

Dragon Quest XI gets orchestral music as well as 2D and 3D graphics.
Dragon Quest got some love in the February 2019 Nintendo Direct. Dragon Quest XI: Definitive Edition was officially confirmed for Western release this fall and Dragon Quest Builders 2 was given a summer release date of July 12, 2019.

SLOPES!
Super Mario Maker 2 has been announced.
Shown at the start of today’s Nintendo Direct, a trailer was shown showcasing bigger enemies. For Super Mario World mode, slopes have been added, and a Cat Mario power-up was shown in a New Super Mario Bros. stage.
There also appears to be new tweaks to the menu, as well as what appears to be coin challenges.

You WILL see this one coming.
Today's Nintendo Direct announced that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be receiving an update to version 3.0.0 this Spring. No further details were announced for the patch. Additionally the first downloadable fighter from the Challenger Pack, Persona 5's Joker, will be releasing in April.
Nintendo also announced upcoming amiibo figures for Simon, Snake, Pokémon Trainer, Squirtle, and Ivysaur.

The eShop's international flavour is about to be enhanced.
The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, best known for their puzzle game Tumblestone, have announced that they will begin publishing titles from other developers. Their first game under this new initiative is Almost There, a simplisticly-designed platformer from Bangladesh-based developer Bony Yousuf; Almost There is the first title from a Bangladeshi developer on Switch.

Next week will see North America attempt to juice Nintendo's digital numbers.
Beginning next Friday, Switch systems in North America will include a $35 eShop credit code with a system purchase. The program is being advertised for a limited time, but no end date was given.
Nintendo has offered shop credit previously with systems, such as when launch models of the DSi came with 1000 points for the DSi Shop in 2009.

Two fantástico games in one delicioso physical bundle.
Physical Nindie collectors should be happy to hear that two fabulous games will soon be available to sit alongside their collection. Coming May 28th (to both Switch and PS4), both Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Guacamelee! 2 will arrive in a physical box and will also include some goodies as well.

The Switch's portfolio of artistic platforms already had crafts coming in March, and now it's got clay.
Claybook, a platformer created by Second Order (founded by former Trials series developers at Ubisoft), is coming to Switch in March. The game features a rewind function, online leaderboards, and a sandbox mode that features level sharing - including levels created on other consoles and PC.

The Switch Online NES games for February will have a whole lot of dreaming.
Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby's Adventure will come to the subscription service on February 13. Super Mario 2 originally released in 1988, while Kirby's Adventure becomes the second newest game on the NES service with its 1993 release.

The skies are about to get a little more violent this spring.
Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing is a new action-focused, randomly generated strategy title which will land on Switch in April. As an airship captain competing on a reality television program, the player will be tasked with surviving the rowdy skies, hunting treasure, and engaging in aerial combat.

Coming off a Feh weekend, because that's the most superb owl in the Nintendo realm.
So you're busting out the 3DS this week?
Well, Etrian Odyssey Nexus and Yo-Kai Watch 3 (Made in the USA edition) are coming out this week, so that's a potential 200 hours or so of RPG right there. The Switch has a few big ones of its own too, both in price (BlazBlue) and file size (Observer, which looks cool but is EIGHTEEN GIGABYTES). Away, a game that's been around for a while at various PAXes, is also out this week.
