Super Mario Maker Patched to v1.10 WiiU

Does not resolve odd level-breaking glitch.

UPDATE: NWR staff have been able to recreate the glitch in 1.10. Original story follows.

Super Mario Maker has received a full point version update, and reports are it resolves a potential level-breaking glitch.

The v1.10 patch's official notes are "Adjustments have been made to make for a more present gaming experience", and the patch requires 223MB.

Sonic Boom Fire And Ice, 3D Sonic 2 Delayed 3DS

Extra development should prevent a Rise of Lyric sequel.

A couple of Sonic titles will miss their intended release timeframes.

Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice has been pushed to 2016 in order to provide developer Sanzaru Games extra time to make a quality title. Sega cited wanting to make sure the game had additional polish before releasing the game, which will open the Sonic franchise's 25th anniversary.

Various collectable Cat Mario statues have just been put up for pre-order from manufacturer First 4 Figures. Three different variations of the Super Mario 3D World inspired piece are being sold, all of which are scheduled to ship out in Q2 2016.

Splatfest Weekend Results: Callie Brings It Home WiiU

Making a mess is one of the highest forms of art.

Results from the weekend in Splatfest action:

North America: Art 255, Science 245 51-49, 51-49 At Hammerhead Bridge, a tight match the whole day ended with Team Art claiming two narrow victories in the closest finish since the 2.0 update. Science made a spirited combeack to try and force extra splats, but Art was able to hold off the charge and pick up the narrow win.

New Hyrule Warriors Legends Details: 3D, Amiibo, Handling Of Wind Waker For Wii U 3DS

If you're going to kick it old school, you're going to be out of luck for 3D

Some new details were announced for Hyrule Warriors Legends in the game's Tokyo Game Show stream.

During the stream, KoeiTecmo announced that due to technical limitations, the ability to run the game in stereoscopic 3D will only be available on the New 3DS. All of the Wii U version's DLC up to release will be included, and most of the content of the Wii U game will be present except for the Challenge Mode.

Project X Zone 2 Adds Nintendo Crossovers 3DS

A couple of walking spoilers will have a run in with Segata Sanshiro

Nintendo characters will be coming to Project X Zone 2 as the crossover continues to get crazy.

Fiora from Xenoblade Chronicles will team with her fellow Xeno character KOS-MOS (Xenosaga Episode 1), while Chrom and Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening will be a controllable pair in the game. It appears the Fire Emblem pair's ultimate double team move is a reference to the Fire Emblem Awakening cover.

Star Fox Zero Delayed to 2016 WiiU

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto confirms the delay of the major Wii U holiday title to early 2016.

Star Fox Zero is no longer due out on November 20, 2015 as the marquee Wii U game is being pushed back to Q1 2016 according to Nintendo.

Here's hoping its big lift is actually completed

The map rotation for Splatoon will expand tonight / tomorrow with the addition of Hammerhead Bridge, just in time for use as a potential Splatfest map.

The bridge is a two-level area, with many spots covered by grating to allow for splatting of those above or below you. There are also some deck areas on the bridge that allow for some true splat from above.

Nintendo Intends To Continue Nintendo Direct Video Series

Despite fears following the passing of former president Satoru IwataNintendo will continue the Direct format for news distribution in their own time.

In a statement to IGN, Nintendo said "Nintendo Directs will continue, but we have no details to provide now on who will be featured or the topics that will be covered" indicating there are no plans for a video soon.

Some Xenoblade Chronicles X DLC Will Be Free In North America, Europe WiiU

The previously paid DLC adds four new characters

The new issue of Game Informer magazine has provided an update on some of Xenoblade Chronicles X's optional content.

Four recruitable characters who were paid DLC in the Japanese version of the title will be free for North America and Europe. Each character will be recruitable after completing three missions, and will provide either a weapon or Skell blueprint.

Super Mario Maker Stage Coming To Smash Bros 3DSWiiU

Master Hand, Crazy Hand, move over for Maker Hand.

The next Smash Bros stage has been announced, and it will be themed around Super Mario Maker.

The Super Mario Maker stage will release on September 30 for both Wii U and 3DS, and will feature a randomly designed stage that will be drawn in as soon as the match starts. The stage elements will be random, with blocks that are broken being replaced within a couple of seconds. All four of Super Mario Maker's games will be represented.

Mega Man Legacy Collection Adds Amiibo Support

Capcom seeks to crowdsource challenge levels from all six games.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection is coming later to the 3DS, but it will have support for the Mega Man Amiibo.

Capcom announced on the Capcom Unity blog that the Amiibo would unlock ten special challenge stages, which will be created by fans. The contest asks for timestamps from Mega Man playthroughs in order to create the special stages, which can cross multiple games in the collection.

Following a Japanese Splatfest this past weekend, North America, Europe and Australia will have their fifth rounds this weekend.

North America's Splatfest will see the battle of Da Vinci's two careers as Team Art (captained by Callie) will take on Team Science (Marie). The battle will begin at midnight Eastern time Saturday (9 p.m. Pacific time Friday).
