2001 Game of the year Award: Game Boy Advance

Golden Sun

I still haven't beaten it yet, but it's quite clear that Golden Sun is very worthy of being grouped with such SNES RPGs as Final Fantasy IV & VI and Chrono Trigger. The production values are high all around, but more importantly, the game is just very compelling and of extremely high quality. – Jonathan Metts

Get past the sequence at the beginning and the game just keeps sucking you further in. The battle scenes alone really make the GBA look incredible, can’t wait for Camelot to begin kicking out titles on the GameCube and I pray Nintendo locks them in as a dedicated 2nd party for the foreseeable future. – Justin Nation

Finally! A new epic RPG on a Nintendo system. The story is good and the graphics are hot. – Mike Sklens

Great storyline, wonderful music, and brilliant Game Boy Advance Graphics. Can anyone say...for the love of God make a GameCube Golden Sun!? – Billy Berghammer

As much for the amazing game experience as for the promise of what can be done with the system in the future ... Golden Sun is an outstanding RPG and Game Boy Advance's Game of the Year. – Rick Powers

Runner Up: Advance Wars
