Assorted Awards

You just can't beat the three-hour trip to Denny's. – Jonathan Metts

Getting a copy of DOOM for the GBA from Billy to review just 2 weeks after I had bought the game. I know that sounds like a millionaire complaining about having a sack of money falling on his head, but there wasn’t anything else I could think of that went “bad” for me since I’ve started writing here. – Michael Orlando

No E3 for Mikey! Damn! Damn it all to Hell! Mike Hrusecky

The time when monetary issues were first brought up at a staff meeting. – Michael Cole

I didn't get to go to E3. I was all set to go. Then monies run short, and your plane cancels. And you get to hear about all the fun that was had and think that you could have made it there if you just preplanned a day earlier. Yahoo. – Jeff Shirley

Missing the Denis Dyack interview - PGC interviewed Denis Dyack at E3 and I missed it. At the appointed meeting time, I (and the few unfortunate staffers who were with me) simply couldn't find the rest of the staff. Billy turned off his cell phone so as not to disturb the interview by the time we thought of making a ($7.56) phone call. Oh well. – David Trammell

Trying to find an unscathed room where we might be able to hold a staff meeting in the hotel after the infamous "Denny’s Debacle”. – Zosha Arushan

Dislocating my shoulder in front of the Nintendo executive staff at Space World 2001. – Billy Berghammer

The sad people on other sites bashing Billy for "begging" for donations while taking a business-class flight to Japan. If only they knew that Billy got his business-class seats for HALF what coach would have cost. Billy is ALWAYS looking out for the site. – Rick Powers

People not showing love to the E3 video! Max worked too hard for this! – Colin Taibi

Finding out that PGC were not on the attendee list for TNS 5 days before the event and spending the next 4 days trying to get a place again (Billy being in Japan made this all the more difficult). – Karlie Yeung

The worst staff moment went down at Denny’s, the night before we left Los Angeles. E3 Video problems were bad, but that night at Denny’s was worse. Tired and hungry after working our collective butts off at E3, we gathered our massive crew together and hit Denny’s. Hell ensued, and Kosta Andreadis nearly didn’t make it out alive. The Denny’s employees would have been in trouble too, though my brother peacefully negotiated for their lives and a HIGHLY discounted meal. It was a very anti-climatic end to what had otherwise been an unbelievably great experience and we were all grumpy & poorly fed as we said our farewells & packed. – Max Lake
