TO FEATURE EXCLUSIVE REMIX OF THE DOORS' "RIDERS ON THE STORM" BY HIP HOP SUPERSTAR SNOOP DOGG

Redwood City, Calif., - October 28, 2004 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:

ERTS) today announced that Snoop Dogg's remix of The Doors' legendary rock song, 'Riders On The Storm,' will be available exclusively in Need for Speed(tm) Underground 2 shipping on November 15, 2004. The in-game soundtrack shifts seamlessly from rock to hip hop to techno with 26 additional hit songs, allowing players to race in style with the hottest tunes as they immerse themselves in the underground tuner culture.

The songs in the game have been selected by EA(tm) TRAX - the music initiative that EA debuted in 2001. The program is dedicated to bringing gamers today's best music through EA's videogames.

In addition to the remix song from Snoop Dogg featuring The Doors, Need for Speed Underground 2 boasts an exclusive track from Capone, as well as new music from Chingy, Mudvayne, Terror Squad, Xzibit and Queens of the Stone Age. Why??? Hiphop is the worst music you can subject a game to, it absolutely does NOT fit into a game context!

Riiiight.....

It'd be pretty hard to have a game based on tuning cars without including, guess what? teH HiP-hOp!

If the Tony Hawk games didn't have a Hip-hop soundtrack, it'd lose some credibility. Know why? Because skaters (and gamers) listen to tEh RapZORS!

It'd be damn near impossible to have Def Jam: Fight for NY (A sweet, game I'll add) without the inclusion of

The recently released (and by many PGC'ers, overated) GTA:SA, would sound completely out of place, if there was no rap station. Maybe you'll want to be the odd man out by having CJ bumping Guns N Roses in his '64, but in his hood, that might get him killed...

Jet Grind Radio? Jet Set Radio Future? Gee I wonder where they get some of their influence....

To be fair though, they'll be others who'll say the opposite: How dare you listen to tripped out, reptitve pulsating beats? Those guitars are grating my nerves!

I dunno. I seem to recall the first NFSU selling very well, and it was pretty much all rock music.

Oh yeah, the gameplay isn't how the Tony Hawk games got popular, no sir! It was because some hip hop music was playing on the title screen! With the hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin'

I remember the videos from THPS 3, only half of the sons in that game got used because the other half was hiphop and just didn't fit with the kind of stuff going on. Hiphop sounds like something that would fit with driving at 5km/h but it's just too slow and lacking melody for the kind of action games have. I don't care about whether the people displayed would listen to hiphop, unless they're going to stand around relaxed all the time another style of music is needed. Although any form of composing skill seems to be absent from most mainstream music styles these days at least the sound directors for game companies should know that music has to describe a scene that is similar to the stuff found in the game. Music is descriptive and hiphop doesn't describe games (and no, it doesn't matter what the people are singing in the song, even with lyrics about a little duckie in a pond The Great Gate of Kiev wouldn't sound like a children's song).

Hip hop fits perfectly with a game such as NFSU2.

HipHop fits perfect into Def Jam Vendetta/Fight For New York.
