Japan May Get New Book, Music-Related Wii Channels

A batch of new Nintendo trademarks indicate new media-centric Wii Channels in Japan.

Nintendo has filed several new trademarks in Japan that indicate several new Wii channels are on the horizon, similar to the video-on-demand channel launched in May called Wii no Ma (translated: Wii's Room). Nintendo has filed more "no Ma" trademarks which translate to Book Room, Music Room, Picture Book Room, Manga Room, and Local Room.

Interestingly, Nintendo filed similar trademarks in June for such things as Corporation Room, Enterprise Room, and Financial Credit Room. None of these channels have been released in Japan, so it is possible that none of the newly trademarked names will surface either.

Wii's Room has not been announced for release on the North American Wii Shop Channel.
