Brave: Shaman's Challenge is a coming of age strategy game developed around Native America mythology.

SouthPeak Games have announced that Brave: Shaman's Challenge is coming to the Nintendo DS this summer. Shaman's Challenge is a story driven puzzle game that follows Brave, a young Native American, in a quest to save his tribe. "There have been some great games released in this subgenre recently, but Brave: Shaman's Challenge aims to raise the bar," says Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak.

Brave must master Shamanic Arts, learn new powers, and explore dangerous territories. Collision Studios, the game's developer, promises "a cast of intriguing characters, a richly developed game world, and more puzzles than you can shake a shaman's stick at!" SouthPeak hopes the variety of gameplay, difficult puzzles, and rewarding storyline translates to something "fans will be able to get into instantly."

I'm curious as to whether the game will focus on the mythologies of a particular region of North America, or sort of bake them all into a casserole.  Either way is fine with me.

I wish someone would basically make a game that served as a love note to the Pacific Northwest. *sigh*

This isn't related to either Soul Bubbles or Brave: Search for the Spirit Dancer, right?

It's odd there really haven't been too many games about Indians.  The best example I can think of is that old NES game Whomp 'Em.  When I was a kid playing Oregon Trail, I thought it'd be cool if they made a similar game about the Trail of Tears.

Gun was sort of..well... not really... but it was decent.

Always kill the Shaman first, otherwise they will rez your enemies.
