We all know NCL President Hiroshi Yamauchi is going to retire sometime soon. Who will replace him?

So who will be the next president after Yamauchi retires? IGN64 investigates....

In an interview with Next-Generation Magazine, game designer Shigeru Miyamoto spoke about who he thought would replace Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, who is expected to retire in 2001. Miyamoto pointed to Nintendo of America president Minoru Arakawa as the main contender for the position.

"Common sense is it should be Mr. Arakawa," explained Miyamoto. "We all know that Mr. Arakawa is the person who has built Nintendo of America to its current position."

Though it previously thought that Hiroshi Yamauchi was not particularly happy with Mr. Arakawa's performance, Miyamoto indicated that it was more about expectations: "I believe that being critical is kind of very Japanese, and very Yamauchi-like. In other words, Mr. Yamauchi is expecting an awful lot of Mr. Arakawa."
