Twin Twin Galaxies just got in touch to inform us of its upcoming “Console Game World Championship” event, which will be the first live console competition held in America with $10,000 being awarded to victors. Hmmm, we might have to get Ty out to this event to win us some prize money. Word has it the guy is lethal at Perfect Dark. The press release from Twin Galaxies is as follows:

Registration is open for America's first live console championship created by the godfather of the gaming industry, Twin Galaxies, which has been crowning the champions across all gaming genres for the past twenty years. The Console Game World Championship will be held on

March 24th & 25th at the Sheraton Dallas Brookhollow Hotel in Dallas, TX, home of the event organizers, the Twin Galaxies Electronic Gamers League (TGEGL).

The championship will feature some of the top games from Playstation/PS2, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Madden NFL 2001, Perfect Dark, and Ultimate Fighting Championship. With a prize package totaling $10,000, the official referee and scorekeeper for the gaming industry is investing serious cash in the console community.
