There's a lot of shrines.
Nintendo has released some new details about the new Legend of Zelda game, Breath of the Wild.
- The game will feature 100 "Shrines of Trials", which are smaller, puzzle-focused dungeons that give items and other rewards once completed. Runes can be installed in the "Shiekah Slate", which also serves as a map and resembles the Wii U GamePad, to get hints in the shrines.
- A Zelda amiibo line has been announced with Archer Link and Rider Link, as well as a Guardian that will have flexible parts. The amiibo are set to launch with the game in 2017.
- In an interview with GameSpot, Eiji Aounuma confirmed that a female main character was considered in the form of a playable Zelda, but they feared it would cost Link his purpose for being in the game.
