Get your poké on.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Online on iPad is now available on the iTunes App Store in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France, and the United Kingdom.

The free-to-play title is feature identical to the version already available for download on PC and Mac; with all of the battling, deck building, and trading to boot. Though you do get a smattering of free cards to begin with, you can earn more by playing against opponents (both human and computer) as well as using codes gained from purchasing physical Pokémon TCG products.

There’s no word regarding whether the app will eventually hit other platforms.

So, am I right to see that the only way you can spend real money on these cards is to buy physical packs and use the code redeem in the packs?  The listing on the iOS App Store says "Uses In-App Purchases" but for the life of me I can't figure out how to purchase PCoins or anything else.

Also, if you don't mind waiting to be frugal, but you'd like to buy some packs in-game, both Troll&Toad and CoolStuffInc will sell the code redeem cards for ~$0.39/each, which is a lot cheaper than buying physical packs that you may never use.

I'm looking forward to playing this w/ the kids (There's also a PC/Mac client for PTCGO as well.)

That's correct.

I was going to download this...but then I saw it is not compatible with non retina ipads.  How is the a problem?  Seriously, your app can not be that processor intense, and the screen resolution does nothing to really add to the game.

You could have millions of more potential buyers if you fix this.
