Louie Award 2003

Biggest Disappointment

Lack of Online Support for GameCube

Please welcome back our good friend “Lack of Online Support”, for his second year in a row winning Biggest Disappointment. We’ve gone another year and still there is only one game available for the GameCube with true online support. Sure, Warp Pipe and other computer programs will let you run the paltry selection of LAN-enabled GameCube games out to the Internet, but that’s just a work-around at best. It’s downright sad that the only online support for the GameCube is coming from a small group of dedicated fans. Nintendo has proven time and again that they just don’t care about online gaming, even if their fans do.
