2008 NWR Awards

Developer of the Year

by Jon Lindemann - February 8, 2009, 12:18 pm EST

Every year we like to recognize the best in gaming on Nintendo consoles.

Developer of the Year

The NWR Award

GOOD-FEEL, Ltd

Out of nowhere and with little fanfare, this fairly unknown development team has rescued the Wario Land series from its slow and painful death. This development team clearly wanted to do Wario's legacy justice, and it succeeded.

Founded by former Konami employees, Good-Feel had little more than a handful of Japanese DS edutainment games to its name until Wario Land: Shake It!. But with its members having titles like Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) , Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64), Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (NES), and Gradius (NES) under their collective belts, this is one team to keep an eye on—whatever their next project may be.

Runners-up: Harmonix, Capcom
