Fire Emblem will be heading to the Wii U eShop tomorrow for $7.99.
Released in Japan as Fire Emblem: The Sword of Flame, the original Game Boy Advance game came out on November 3, 2003. It was the first in the series to arrive in North America, and it's popularity has brought most of the following entries in the series to the western world as well.

Coming soon to fill the retro-inspired hole in our hearts left in the wake of Shovel Knight.
Super Icon Ltd. recently announced via Twitter that their retro-inspired, 2-D platformer Life of Pixel will be coming to Wii U soon.
Originally released on Mac and PC, Life of Pixel offers over 80 levels and unlockable content and features a large variety of level designs, gameplay and power-ups. While the graphics and sound bring to memory the old days of the NES, gameplay gives a wider picture of other platform styles as well.

Retail source says Nintendo is trying to clear the old system from shelves.
The trade price of Nintendo's white, 8 GB Wii U Basic has been slashed in the UK by £70. The UK first saw these price cuts in late October, but they continue to extend into new deals and bundles for the holiday shopping season.

A major update has arrived for one of Nintendo’s freemium 3DS games.
An update for Steel Diver: Sub Wars, Version 4.0, is available now on the 3DS eShop.

With the arrival of the New Nintendo 3DS, the previous model's end is imminent.
Nintendo will end production on its line of regular 3DS XL (or LL in Japan) handhelds very soon. This was revealed on the company's Japanese website earlier in the week.
All the color variations: Mint White, Black, Blue Black, Pink White, Red Black, Silver Black and White will no longer be manufactured. All the other versions of the standard Nintendo 3DS XL have been discontinued already and will not return.

Developers elaborate on story, single-player mode and more.
Recently Splatoon developers have taken to Twitter to share some details and new information regarding the new Wii U title releasing next year.
In single player mode, or "Hero Mode", it's the Squids versus the Octopi. A mysterious squid-man has discovered the Octopus Army Corps secret plan to invade the surface world from their underground facility. It's up to your Squid hero to infiltrate their base and take them down.

Gamers sure love their Smash!
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is now the fastest-selling game for Nintendo's tablet-centric console in the United States.
According to Nintendo, a whopping 490,000 copies were sold during its first three days on store shelves. Considering the fact that Wii U's install base isn't particularly huge, that figure is nothing to sneeze at.

For those who want more Pikmin in their life!
Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that special Pikmin themes is heading to the Nintendo 3DS. The famed developer brought this up during an interview on Miiverse.
The Pikmin themes, which will be available on the Nintendo 3DS Theme Shop this week, bring a variety of the critters to the top screen on the system. Bulborb are always lurking on both themes as well, so be aware!

The Meta Knight Amiibo will be exclusively sold at Best Buy stores next February in North America, presumably alongside the other Wave 3 Amiibo figures.
Meta Knight is the second confirmed Amiibo to have a retailer exclusive release. Previously Shulk, the protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles, was confirmed to be a GameStop exclusive.

The iconic princess will offer a nifty unlock for owners of her NFC figure.
Nintendo has revealed how the Zelda amiibo will function in Hyrule Warriors.
Those who own the plastic princess will be able to unlock a weapon with a rating of at least three stars by tapping the toy to the Wii U GamePad's NFC reader. Meanwhile, tapping any other amiibo will get you a either a weapon rated three stars or lower, a crafting material bonus, or a rupee bonus. These functions can both be used once each day.
